folded chin spoiler and chin painting

I ordered a chin spoiler, grille delete, and tri ax from steeda, and they all came in one box, and the chin spoiler was folded over twice  its got some bent spots that look like they prolly will come out, but i dunno.

anyone else had this experience?

also: this is kindof random, but a buddy of mine told me to get my chin spoiler painted (my car is black) he said he got his painted on his black gt, clearcoat and all, he said it looked sick, and I trust his opinion most the time. . . what do you think?

If you are unhappy with it,send it back for exchange, I ordered things from Steeda & UPR...The items were thrown into a box, loose with no packing and were received scratched or damaged. Some companies are more concerned with saving $5.00(everything into one box) and doing it right the second time. Especially UPR. Last order from them the item was wrapped with toilet paper. That makes a big time statement.

my steeda spoiler came folded like you said also with no hardware. it will correct itself over time... mine is still not installed been over 6 months. got my first one from cdc and they didn't fold it and it came with hardware.

Mine came folded as well. My first reaction was something along the lines of... "oh *****! wtf did they do to this!?" :

I simply straightened it out by hand and put it on. Everything turned out fine. But I must admit, it didn't look good at first.

mine from mustangtuning came folded, crappy package as a whole, but anyway I just used a hairdryer on it and it straightened out most of the way. When it's mounted it's pretty tight and will form like it should pretty quickly.

the reason they fold it is because of shipping. it cost a **** load more money to ship something after so many in. long. i thought i was gonna ship someone my strut tower brace off my 96 cobra. yeah right they wanted 60 bucks just to ship the damn thing.

My MT spoiler came folded. After letting it sit for a while with a little heat it started to take a bit more shape and even more once it was finally drilled / bolted onto the bumper.

Either someone kicked my car or it's slowly starting to lose it's shape, at the moment I'm noticing more and more every day one of the corners of the spoiler is starting to press inward.

I've got my car on some ramps and was tugging on it, took out the plugs and put it back in again but it's not the easiest to get back to the original form. Just something to look out for.

Mine came folded. I just layed it out flat and used a hair dryer on LOW on the creased parts. It straighted out enough to mount it. Now you can't even tell it was folded.

I wouldn't paint it. You will hit the spoiler, even on a stock ride hieght mustang. The spoiler is designed to flex with the hits and you will chip your paint off.

Leave it flat black. It will look kick ass either way

I left my in the sun for a day and it is okay now...

That works for you warm state stangers, but here in the NE this time of year with approx. 6 inches of snow on the ground right now and only going to 32 deg max tomorrow, putting it by the heater might be a better option. Just make sure not to lean it on the baseboard or radiator and melt it.

HAHA, yeah I ordered one from cdc and it came in a big box but one of the ends was folded and taped over. Then I scraped the crap out of it turning around in a really steep driveway. I ordered another one from a different company and it came folded. Don't even worry about the folds. Just let it sit for a day and then mount it. The folds will go away when you mount it and it is good and tight. There is no need for a hairdryer or anything. Just watch out for those steep driveways! :nice:
