K&N drop in filter, or Densecharger CAI?

  • Sponsors (?)

if you like the looks of a CAI, then get it, if you don't really care then get the K&N and save ~20 minutes of install and a little cash.

If you want a good looking CAI for cheap, check out the JLT CAI. He can paint it to match your car (looks great in Sonic Blue btw) and it's been dyno proven to make power.

I can snap a few pictures of mine if you're interested.

I like my densecharger, look and performance. :nice:

Some say they are not worth the money, but it was worth my money.

The bullitt had a serious bend after the throttle body, and the corrugated pipe was crap stock. The densecharger solved both problems.

Probably not a huge difference in performance either way, but the look was worth the $ alone.

I say get a Densecharger CAI! Get it
with the carbon fiber upgrade.I will be
purchasing one next year probaly.I think
it's a really nice piece for my ride. Also
I belive you will probaly gain 1-2 rwhp
with the Densecharger some gain is better
than no gains. The Densecharger site is not the same anymore it changed to
www.tunableinduction.com check out
their site! Good luck Evenflow whatever
route you decided to take.

Im deciding whether it would be smarter to just buy a drop in K&N air filter, or a Densecharger CAI kit.

I know I wont be getting any gains on either.
I think you kind of answered your own question. Realizing that you’re not getting much out of either, why pony up the extra for the Densecharger if you don’t need to?

Evenflow...I have a densecharger tb tube connected to a drop in K&N filter that I will sell you for cheap. Let me know if you want it-PM me. I had to remove it when I installed my Kenne Bell. They are just sitting in my basement right now.

That thing is funky looking - it looks like about a 5" tube with bottlenecks at each end. Nice color though...and this is about the only thing you get from a inlet tube/CAI - bling. (I ain't ashamed...I've got two C&L inlet tubes!) I'd caution staying away from the 'in-the-fender' CAI. A 90 degree turn in front of the MAF (especially on pre 02 GTs where the MAF had a 'roof' mounted sampling tube).

"dont waste your money on either"

I think I may just get a drop in K&N..its good for what 3/4 rwhp.

Then..use the rest of the money for maybe a prochamber or an O/R pipe.

K&N gained 1RWHP on an 01 bullitt GT.Heck I felt the power gain from my K&N, not huge but it was there and kinda changed the sound of the engine and exhaust.I am probably just going to leave the stock intake hose on there, probably wouldnt be worth the money now for another 1-5HP.
