Dyno Day in South Sound (Tacoma)

  • Sponsors (?)

I think I'll go. I wont have my longtubes and o/r X on at that time, but hopefully she'll dyno pretty good. =/ For a 4.6 that is lol I'll probably 1 pull with wideband. You guys said they can just unbolt your O2 sensors to put the wideband in there? does it do both banks incase one isn't as consistent as the other. =/ My fuel pump is a pile.

Anyone have a 96-97 GT gas tank for sale??

OK, another question. Was does this "Wideband" mean? No, I'm not a mechanic or anything so some of this terminology I don't get.

This term applies to air to fuel ratio. With a reading, you can know if your car is running too rich or too lean. Either excess would reduce performance. If your car has significant mods, such a test would be worth the expense and bother. If your car is relatively stock, I wouldn't bother.

It would read only one bank because the o2 sensor is located before the crossover pipe. Your wideband would only give you full throttle numbers unless you have a separate bung welded in. I would prefer that you have the bung welded before the dyno day, as welding would slow things down too much.

crazyhorse, you can meet up with me and the bellevue guys on our way down. where in renton are you? maybe we could meet at the freddy's near ranier ave?

and what's a good time to meet up? if the dynoing starts at nine, maybe we could meet up around then, considering commute etc.

well Gerard... I'd be up for a cruise... and I'm willing to bet Kalin would be too... and I'm trying to get a friend of mine w/ his RX-7 to come... he doesn't want to spend a lot of money, but thinks he makes more power than I do :D (we'll see :D)

-btw, do you have an address of that place, so I can just do a mapquest on it? thxn

I've already written directions. Please veiw the previous posts in this string.

The Mustang dyno can put a load on the car so it gives a more accurate hp rating.

RedBlur,
I'll see if I can work something out with my idiot supervisor and maybe I could get off work at 8:30 am. I know exactly where Freddy's is at on Ranier. Right now it's up in the air. Worst case, I get off work at 11:00 am and I'd just head down there on my own. I'll let you know though. :nice:

Yes, I'll be there but won't be dynoing.

And don't forget that invitations have been sent to our buddies at the Washington Lightning Owners club as well as the Washington Chapters of Ford Truck World and Mustang Life.

...the more the merrier...

i was a senior at tumwater this year. did you go to new market?

i keep seeing a maroon/grey vert around the lacey area. the car was only at new market for one day that i saw this year. just wondering if that might be you, dont know many teenage fox body owners around here.

assuming i get my engine in and running ok to drive, ill be there watching at least.
