Bring the car back to the dealer and get your head unit replaced. It sounds defective as some others on here have had the same problem.

get new headunit, then sell headunit . remove stock speakers sell them. Spend 1200 and buy new headunit and 2 sets of component speakers (infinity kappa or kickers) Buy a nice mp3 HU, 2 amps and 2 subs and all your wiring. End problem.

Happened twice with me so far (store-bought CDs); since it seems the replacement units are working ok they must have found the problem. Guess I'll get mine replaced too, then.

Does this mean the new cars being built now will have the "working" parts put in before it hits the streets ??

Or will this be something everyone will have to go thru. Why wouldnt Ford install the ones that WORK when they build the car if they know there is a problem ?? Or will they ??

This would not be a Ford problem. Ford installs them, doesn't build them. Like the battery, tires, etc.

I had mine replaced about a month after I bought the car. So far everything is good with the new unit.
Thanks guys for the input, , I guess I will check on having my head unit replaced then, when you had your unit replaced, did the dealer give you a hard time, or just do it? seems to be getting worse lately, and also skipping in the middle of alot of songs, also these c/d s are not ones i down loaded, or had someone to copy for me, they are all pretty new, Thanks for your input,
