Stearing Shaft Problem???????

i have a loose play in the stearing wheel i adressed the problem evey thing as to suspension seems to be good but when you turn the stearing wheel the shaft has a like a point where there is play?? What do i need the rubber absorber or some thing any ever had this problem???

Get under the dash in the car and look at the u-joint that's on the steering column. There's a torx screw that needs to be tightened. You can get a torx socket set at any hardware store.

The exact same thing happened to me - I tightened the screw up as far as it would go, and voila! Steering was tight as a virgin on prom night. :D
 
well i just went and checked the rag joint, and the u-joint inside and the one in the engine bay......one in engine bay seems to have some play......but i think it is the rack.......can they be rebuilt........

sorry to hijack your thread, but i just figured i would save more stress on their already stressed servers

Anyone else tried this yet??? I'm getting sick of the play in my steering. I was going to buy the $250 solid steering shaft from maximum motorsports, but I think I'll try this first.
