Intro - Kinda new to Stangnet

LOL...

The car is painted "Ford blue", whatever that means for an '89. I forget the exact name. They did add a little metal flake, to make it shine some, plus it was clear coated, which I don't think my car was originally. They didn't paint the engine bay, so you can get an idea of the color difference from stock where the fenders roll into the engine compartment. To be honest, the difference is barely noticeable. I'm glad I had them do the clear and flake. Tom's Performance on 84th and Foster in Portland did the paint and body work. I welded in backing plates for the shaved antena and the 8+ holes where the old LX wing used to mount. They bondo'd and sanded those holes, and all of the other little dings in the car. Tom did an EXCELLENT job, considering the price. I never hesitate to recommend them.

Nothing wrong with multi-colored cars... I miss the days when I didn't have to park out in BFE for fear of door dings.

welcome to the forums. nice car and how do you like the typhoon intake?

If you can afford it, I'd get the real-deal Edelbrock. It appears to be working fine now - although I did have a coolant leak around the thermostat mount when I installed it (due to a lack of gasket land - appears casting core shifted). Also, I had problems with many of the pipe threaded holes. Some pulled out, others didn't get much more than 2-3 threads in.

If you are willing to F with it, then it's not a bad intake for the money. If you want to bolt it on and go, it may not be for you.

PS - Others have had excellent success. Mine was an early model. They may be better or worse now, although I know the quality is still questionable.
