and bad others? i never had this problem before, but i did hear slight mention of it on this site a long while ago. anyway the last time i drove the gt the car had about a half tank of gas, and felt really strong. today i drove the car, it had about a quater tank and it felt weak, like it alsomt hesitated for about a second before taking off. when it did take off it still didnt feel as strong as usual. almost felt like t/c was on but it wasnt. the car seemed to bog down likt t/c was on? any ideas, anyone else experiance this?

how old is the gas? i mean i let my car sit for a month, and the car couldn't stay on at idle. put some nice 93 in and it was alive again

if its like a day old or so i got no idea. put some octane booster in. i bet she'll love it!

weather? or bad gas maybe.

I was going to post this, good you that you did,my car does the same exact thing, somedays its really strong others it seems so sluggish,i run the car everyday so the gas doesnt have a chance to sit and get old,and i fill up from the same station.

Could the weather have anything to do with it?Does the problem go away after the car reaches operating temp?Could one of the electrical connections be corroded?Intermittent problems are hard to track down so try to figure out the variables and go from there.

Thats the thing everything is consistant,i've even taken it to the dealer about this problem and they could find nothing wrong, another reason that its concerning me is that when i maintain a high rpm or after a quick romp i can sometimes not always smell some oil,but the car is still fairly low on miles, and in way had a hard life....yet

hmm.. I haven't had this issue with my car and I sure hope that I don't ever have it. Sounds pretty weird though, when was the last time you changed your oil?

I have had this feeling before but I tell myself it is in my head. I can come up with no true logical reason.

I know it is not bad gas or anything like that. some times I think the car feels stronger than others though. I assume it could be just weather conditions possibly.

Maybe the engine is heat soaked. In the morning, my car flys. After I park it for an hour, then drive it, it feels slower. I know we have some sensor in the or close to the the MAF that pulls timing, Maybe thats it. Rememeber the "resistor mod".

If thats true where is it and how do you get rid of it.

You can't get rid of it. With the resistor mod, you simply trick it. The resistor is in the air tube right behind the MAF. It's that jack that plugs into the black tube. Guys at the track pull that plug and install a resistor to fool the computer into thinking it's actually colder outside than it really is. This way the computer will not pull any timing. Do a search, it's on here somewhere, look for "resistor".

Mine seems to run stronger on dry and cooler days. but there were times when it ran sluggish in those kinds of conditions as well.

This makes me think about one cool and dry day when my car was running kinda sluggish. Some guy in a newer model Altima pulled up beside me on the higheway, wanting to run. So I punched it (from 50 mph roll) but was unable to pull away until I hit 80mph, and then I pulled just BARELY. :nonono:

Yeah, I had the same feeling as well. I once thought perhaps it was all in my head, due to me getting "used to" my car. But I am now convinced that my car does have its "good" and "bad" days.

:stupid:

I've noticed this good and bad performance day factor for a long time too; I don't notice this when driving non-muscle cars. However, I drive the Mustang more often so maybe it's just me/us being overly critical.

I'm gonna look up that resistor mod,but it makes me wonder about how strong these motors are and what the power potential can really be,its great if it puts the numbers down on the dyno, but when your driving it on the street is where it counts.Somedays I shift 3rd and get it to kick other times i shift 3rd and cant even get a bark,Thats why I think when this one goes I'm dropping my freshly done 302 in her.
