OK ive looked over and over and i can not find my ingntion module on my 94 gt.....Were the hell is it?

WHats happening with my car is after a certain time it shuts off and cannot be restarted.....Only way i restart it is if i jump the ignition wire on the coil "shocking" the ignition then starting it......also could my computer be bad and thats why it does this?

it shuts off itself? or you shut if off and try to restart?
if it is shutting off itself, and not restarting (turning over but not starting) id check your stator (sensor in the distruibtor)

oh and your ignigion module is under your air filter kinda, back a little further...but i'd keep it as simple as possible

I already have a new module, but whats the stator? Is it in the distrib? Ive had this problem for some time, the car will be driving fine then wam it turns off like i turned the key off, then wont start ill check the module then if that dont fix its new stator time i geuss, then what?

Damn electronics :bang: :bang: :bang:

I thought that our ignition control module was located on the distributor.........and that the spout connector was found near the MAF sensor housing.

94 GT VERT AODE
Ported stock intake, 4.10's, shift kit, Granatelli MAF, BBK 70mm TB, 14*, BBK adj fpr, 2 chamber flows, BBK O/R H pipe, BBK underdrive pulleys, MSD 6A, Walbro 190 pump, k&n with silencer removed, sub-frame connectors, fan switch mod, 160* tstat , weight reduction

nope....ign module is UNDER the intake tubing at least it is on mine...the spout is over there too.... Stator is IN the distrubitor...little black thing....follow the wires into the distributor...if you want to check it, get some contact cleaner or some WD-40 and when it acts up (cools it off), spray it in there and try starting it again..thats what i did for a while till i could get it fixed

The ignition module for 93-older are on the dizzy we (94/95) have it under the MAF area.

SN95's have a TFI module...its located under the air filter housing on the fender, mounted in a heat sink...The Fox motors have the TFI module on the side of the dizzy...Thats the dif in years...

TFI modules have been know to shut down or kill the motor outta nowhere once hot...Later they can be re-started as the unit cools down..other times they just out and out die and wont retstart....They can be removed and tested at most parts stores if its suspect...The stator issue is in the dizzy...Its also will do some of the funky things your describing..I have never had that issue(replaced the dizzy before it struck) its not all that uncommon the stator lets go though...

I would suggest pulling the codes and see what gives....a PIP or TFI signal loss will store a code...I have had Ford TFI's good dead and pulled a code stating "PIP signal lost ot intermittant" in this instance...the TFI module died..
hope that helps some.

Here is the ingnition wiring diagram from the haynes repair manual
Hall Effet Sensor is the same as Stator

when mine did this i had melted internally the connector that connects the stator /distributor to the wire that leads around to the tfi module... so in actuality i had to wire around it. I also had to replace the stator anyways. you will nee dto go to a shop with a press to get teh gear off

make sure you mark the gear so you stab it back correctly... and reset your timing
