I am going to take my car into the local performance shop this week to have them check out a few problems, I also think I should get a Tune up as it has never had one since I got it. my question is what kinda things are done during your basic tune up, is there anything special I should have them do or look for, what is the ball park cost. sorry if this sounds like a dumb ass question just wanna make sure everythings done right

i would recomend
plugs
clean air filter
fuel filter
clean t/b
pcv valve
oil & filter
brake flush
coolant flush
p/s flush
trans fluid
diff fluid
balance & rotate tires if needed
check suspension and steering parts
check brakes
test battery
check serp belt and pulleys

depends what shop rates are where you live i work at a shop with an excellent reputaion and a huge customer base the only problem is our labor rate is $89 hr and $100 for diagnostics so if you were to come to my shop it would cost around 750 or so not an exact # because im a tech not a service writer anyways it will probably be cheaper where you take your car just make sure you trust them

$750!!! for a tune up you guys must do a he|| of a job and use some mighty god like parts dayum i barely make that every 2 weeks

750 was for everything on the list including fluid flushes and parts and stuff like that yes i agree expensive but i would rather take my car somewhere i trust and know im getting good honest service even if it cost extra

a tune up is an easy back yard job... buy a hanes manual and a cheapo set of tools and get all the parts at an autozone or something....

id recomend u going some single platnum because you wont have to change them for many miles... but if u like working on ur car and want really good plugs id go with some ngk tr55 copper plugs or some 764

good point
but if you really want a good job you just gatta do it your self that way u at least know that you changed every thing you said you would and put good parts in and made sure it was done right and saved about $600

I agree with you guys, I would rather do it my self but since I live in a apt now working on my car is getting harder. sure I can find a way around it though. (back to the parents)

bah. o live in a apartemnt as well. there are many a times where my legs are sticking out in the middle of the parking lot. all that stuff is pretty easy. and wouldn't look much out of the ordinary doing the work in a lot. or just take i to a buddies.
