Attn: All Street Racers

Thanks alot, I was stuck in traffic for over an hour on RT 17 in Paramus NJ because of you losers. I had to wait while they pulled your bodies off the street and hose down the highway of your blood and guts. I really could care less about your pain and your car since all three of you losers involved in the crash deserved it. The Infiniti Q45 and Mazda MX 6 were neck and neck for awhile till you both broke your necks. You wanna race? Then go up a couple hours into the boondocks and find some dead end road or better yet go to the track. Street Racers are LOSERS. I know at least one of you is critical and will probably die, so keep on playing games Street Racers. BTW: The prosecutors office will probably charge the only living guy left in the race with manslaughter at the very least and spend quite a few years in prison. KEEP RACING !!! :D :lock:

sheeesh, get over yourself already.

I agree street racing is dangerous. usually some innocent steps off a curb, or like my cousin who lost control and ended up in someones living room (thank God nobody was home) and someone gets to go to the hospital or the morgue. Street racing is like doing the nasty with a stranger with no condom. Sooner or later you gonna get burned. Although illegal, street racing is as american as baseball, apple pie, and fast food. I would bet when Henry sold his first 5 cars 2 of them were street racing soon after. I hate to admit but I street race on occasion, but I haven't had anyone wanting to go up against my '05 yet. If you must race try to do it at the track. If you get caught up in the heat of the moment I advise do it on a back road that pretty smooth and no curves, and most important no other cars on the road and no bystanders.

On another note, Since the new Mustang has been known to attract the opposite sex, put a condom in the glove box, the only saftey feature that was not available. :)

I agree that street racing is stupid and deadly, however, I do not like stoplight drag racing included in this definitition. Street racing, i.e. truly racing down the roads, weaving in and out, and going as fast as possible is downright insane; however, quick stoplight drags up to 60-70 pose a much lower threat. I am not saying it is completely safe, or should be legal, but here in FL, they will take your car away if you even launch hard off the line. That to me is asinine. Hell, if the speed limit on the road is 60, and I launch full throttle all the way to 60, but don't go a mile over the limit, I could still be ticketed for street racing.

They take your car for for peeling out from a light, thats messed up. Dang! Last week I got stopped for a 3 point check and did a burn out with the cop standing right by my window in front of four other cops and they smiled and have me a thumbs up. I was planning to move to Florida someday, hummm guess not. I don't mind paying a ticket but if someone tries to take my car thats not going to happen easy, guess I'll get beat down and hauled off. Someone got a movie camera?

Here in Jersey they call that "exhibition of speed", and I believe it's a four point offense (ouch!).

Does anyone know what the laws are concerning "speeding up to fast from a light" in Michigan? or where I might be able to locate this information?

I haven't ever raced, but I often take off quickly from stoplights...I didn't get 300 hp in a badass car to listen to it idle up to speed

thanks all

are you sure this was in florida?? cause from what I understand the fastest people go there is 35 in a 55 and most of them drive a 85 caddy fleetwood ! :) :chair:
but seriously Excon, did you think that one of those guys would ask for a laptop at the hospital and wanted to check what message you had for them!? :D

So fun to pick on you, sorry :chair:

Also remember that most states have offenses for "reckless driving" and many times if you've done enough wrong, in a blatant enough way, and the cop is in a bad enough mood, he can roll a few traffic violations into a charge of reckless driving. This is serious stuff, as reckless isn't considered a mere traffic offense in many states, it's a criminal offense and carries a huge fine and, in some states, can involve jail time, not to mention license suspension. I would imagine that street racing in heavy traffic, were you've put the lives of many people around you at risk, would give the cop good enough cause to charge you with reckless. Stuff like power launches and burnouts I don't think would be serious enough, unless you were doing donuts in a playground full of kids, something monumentally stupid like that. When you get down to it, street racing on public roads in traffic is just a boneheaded move. If my kid or wife ever got killed by someone doing that, and the idiot that caused it survived, no doubt I'd consider taking the 25 to life to settle the score. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I've never raced on the street, but I can't remember a time that I've done it when it hasn't been either 2am with no traffic or on some desserted backroad. I'm not talking about speeding in traffic here, thats bad enough at times, I'm talking about actual racing with another car, slicing through traffic. A few years ago two guys were racing out here on the LIE in the middle of the day, one in a Lambo Diablo, the other in a Vette. The guy in the Lambo plowed into a family in a Volvo wagon head on at over 80mph, killing them all. Unbelievably, the guy survived, and I hope he suffers for the rest of his miserable existance. I keep a picture of that wrecked Lambo on my PC and every now and then I look at it and it reminds me to play it cool on the street when some idiot is next to me revving his motor in rush hour traffic.

It would be at the descresion of the officer. He could ticket you for any number of items.... reckless driving, agressive driving/road rage, to fast for conditions (even tho you are not going faster than the posted limit).

Lots of options are at the discretion of the officer, some real others imagined. Thankfully most officers are honest and sincere and don't play too many games with the law. I still remember, about 20 years ago, when a Phoenix PD officer ticketed a co-worker of mine driving an RX-7 for doing 60 in a construction zone. Funny thing was it was bumper to bumper traffic on gravel and he stopped her less than 1/4 miles from the intersection where she had been stopped by the light. Personally I figured he was looking for a little one-on-one plea bargaining... :D

where do they go 35? Man everywhere I drive down here there stupid signal is on and they are driving 15-20mph. Silly blue-hairs!
I dont think they were racing I think they were using their laptops to check ExCons posts, and they became so enraged that they experienced road-rage!
