Think I will swap out the fender badges on this car. If anyone has a suggestion or better yet some pics I would appreciate it. I am looking for something TASTEFUL in other words the total OPPOSITE of those ridiculous looking 40th Anniversary Badges I have seen. Those are truly the worst badges I think I have EVER seen! PLEASE POST PICS!! THANKS!!

Here are some ideas:
1965-66 Mustang GT emblems:

These were use with Shelby Mustang style rocker panel stripes with 'Mustang" in chrome lettering were "GT350" would be on the Shelby. I think this would look great on your car provided there is room for"Mustang" between the door and the front wheel opening. Here's a pic:

1665-66 Fender emblems:

1967-68 Fender emblems

I believe 67-68 6cyl did not have the engine displacement above the horse, if not you cab use the 67-68 Mustang script with a 65-66 emblem

Oh course if you want your car to be a high quality real performance car then the only way to go is:

Glad I can help Kevin. if I had known your were looking I would have shot you the link sooner. Providing they fit I think they would look great on your car. I would put them were the GT is on the Mustang GTs. I see the kit come with the F*O*R*D for the leading edge of the hood, that might look good too, you could probably lay them on and see.

yeah I am still on the fence though I might order and lay them on as you suggest to "try them on" but I am afraid that it will appear that I am trying too hard and it will just come across as "cheesy"

Yea it might that's why I suggested the test fit. If you don't use them you could probably sell them on Ebay pretty easily.

If y'all need to purchase vintage emblems or badges I would suggest either YearOne or NationalPartsDepot.

Since my '05 GT is an automatic I'm thinking of going with the '67 GTA badges.

I put the tri-bar logos on my V-6 and they add a really nice touch. However, you have to be real careful in putting them on. The car, at least visually, rises from the front to the rear and if you're too quick to put the badges on they'll look crooked. What I did was drop a chalk line down from the gap between the hood and the fender; snap it and there's your perfectly straight line...regardless of the lines of the car. They look great once installed (and with the pins snipped off...just the tape does the trick).

Dave...
What did you do about the holes in the fender left by the original GT badges?

I have those same exact tri-bar emblems that I would like to put on, but I don't know what to do with the holes.
