Is bassani stuff worth the money? I'm thinking about getting the bassani street competition catback. Does anyone have any soundclips of it?? Thanks.

Well if money isnt a problem i would get them. But if money is a problem i would be looking at Dynomax. They are straight thru muffler just like Bassani, Borla and magnaflow. :nice:

I have bassani X pipe, and it is high quality craftsmenship, the welds are perfect, the materials are high grade, it fits and sounds excellent, I would assume the catback is made with the same standards

My experience:

I labored over this decision as well. I wanted a great sounding stainless steel catback. I had heard magnaflows (both types) in person, but only sound clips of Bassani. I really wanted that Bassani sound!

The Bassani Quiet Thunder catback was basically DOUBLE the price of the magnaflow (or anything else). The thought of spending nearly $700 shipped from Houstonperformance was painful........ but I ordered it anyway.

While in rout, I nearly had an ulcer that I just dropped $700 on "just" a catback. When it arrived I felt a little better........ unbelievable workmanship!

I decided to install it myself. I had never done "anything" on a mustang (or any car). The directions were great and it fit like a glove.

When the install was completed, I wanted to hear it for the first time from behind the car. I had my wife jump in and fire it up while I stood about 30 feet behind.

When she turned over the engine and that thing fired up.....................

my ulcer disappeared IMMEDIATELY!!!!

After researching for the "perfect" catback for 6 months, scared to make a mistake, and spending an TON of cash on it, it was COMPLETELY worth it!

I get compliments everywhere I go....... especially from other stangbangers who have modified exhausts.

To clarify, the previous owner of my Bullitt had already installed the Bassani X-pipe with cats. So my current system is all Bassani with exception of headers. It sounds awesome! It's a very clean sound, without popping or cracking (midpipe selection highly influences this as well). My friends here me coming from about 2 blocks away. There is nothing quiet about their "Quiet Thunder" catback. But it is not too loud like some others.

Bassani does not make the loudest, but it surely is the DEEEEEEEEPEST I've heard. Especially mated with their x-pipe with cats. I've read many reports that their x-pipe WITHOUT cats sounds a little raspy. There may be some truth to this, I've yet to hear one.

Definately get it. You may have an ulcer about the price, but once you fire it up........ you'll never regret it!

Sorry so long, but you asked for additional feedback. This is the best I can do.

I baught the SS catback and the BX x/pipe with cats from houstonperformance also... my only complaint is that i should of baught the o/r x pipe, because well that is what i want now!!! i spent over $1000 getting the peices along with install. after saying that i WOULD NOT take it back for no other exhaust!

To me there is nothing better then an 03 cobra with exhaust himself pulling up to you to compliment you on your 2v sound over his 4v sound!

I have a Bassani O/R X pipe. Right now I am running it with Flowmasters, but here's a soundclip: http://www.synvb.com/98gt_after_xpipe.mp3

I have the Bassani Xhaust, not the BX serious. You can't go wrong with their stainless steel line.

I would never trade it for anything. People always tell me that it's not a true X, but I tell them to stick their dick in my pipes and then tell me it's not a true X.

Anywho...get Bassani, you won't regret it. Just remember that I have Flowmasters, so it may not sound the same on your car. But no matter what, it will sound good. It's an x pipe ;)

Oh...and here's a clip of my X pipe dumped before the mufflers: http://www.synvb.com/98gt_dumped_xpipe.mp3 Enjoy.

I think bassani sounds great. someone on hear had an issue with trying to run 315's outback and it hitting the cat back.

I think it was deadlurker you might be able to search that out.

I could not justify the bassani cost but I love the sound. I am also not sure if the other catbacks have fitmet issues. I only have 285's on 10's outback no 10.5 and 315's like he did.

Im looking forward on buying the bassani BX midpipe, i dont think its bad, but then again, ive never seen it, i live in cali and i dont think we have really bad rusting problems here, so i dont think it would be bad, also, what are baffles??

I bought the SS X pipe with cats and the SS catback and I love it! People tell me all the time that it sounds bad ass! and they love the sound.. the only problem is that it didn't pass inspection for sound in delaware so I just stuck some steel wool behind the baffles with some wire mesh in there and It passed!
