My new 2003 cobra track times!!

I have a 2003 cobra with just a drop in k&n filter with no silencer. I ran 13.29 at 109.73 Is that a good time? My 60 ft was 2.27. Any info would help me out and what kind of times everyone else has ran.

That's really not very good considering the new '05 runs mid 13's bone stock n/a'd. I saw an '03 Cobra vert run 12.92 at a local track last Friday night. I was expecting mid to high 12's from it.

All i saw the new ones running were 13.8 and theres no way they are running 109 mph!!!! My mph is good for 12's

Your 60ft is killing you... put some tires on it and see how it does..

Your ET is normal for the 'joe lunchpail' driver. So there's nothing to be ashamed of there. You should be able to improve on your 60' however. Get it to around 1.9 on street tires and your looking at 13.10 @110-ish. Pretty respectable.

PS: take all the internet-racers telling you you should be running 12.9x stock with a grain of salt. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that when the 03' came out, I saw lots of stockers run the 1320 and a few of them were good drivers. Not one of them cracked 12's bone stock. you've got a great car. salute!

practice some more...a 390hp car should be in the 12's...

If he drops his 60 foot times to 1.9 he should be in the 12's no problem...a tenth on the short time is worth 2 tenths at the top end usually, esp with a blown car...

My first time out was a 13.00 @113mph and a 2.6 60’ with the mods in my signature. I couldn’t get the 60’ time down until I got Dr’s and a diff brace. After that and some practice I was able to get it down to 12.28 @ 118mph.

I think your time is good for the first time out. Launching these cars is tricky.

Different drivers and different tracks. Not all 05's run mid-13's. Just like not all 03 Cobra's run mid 12's.

the 60 ft. time is what's holding you back. But, overall, not bad for your 1st time at the track. Just use that experience as a baseline for what to work/practice for next time.

he probably got the irs brace that goes on the back of the pumkin. I know billet flow and steeda make them right now. alot of people are blowing out there pumkins so its cheap insurance. if you go over to svtperformance.com you can find alot of info on it. bought mine last week. next thing to upgrade will be halfshafts and heat exchanger.
