Well, after a week of working on the stereo, it's finally done and sounds absolutely incredible... however.... It was at my friends metal fabrication shop for the week while we were doing the install, and some of his workers while painting some metals sreens about 50ft. away managed to cover my car w/ overspray  It can't really be seen by eye (except on the windows) but, the rest of the car is rough to the touch. I held my breath and tried some wax, but nothing really changed. Is there any particular product i could use on the body that would remove the overspray, and not damage the clear coat?? or, will i be better off taking it to a body shop or detail center??? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks-- Mike

Alcohol will do the job, use some on a towel. Use light pressure on the overparay areas until it is gone, then(at least) protect it with some white wax(cleaner wax) I would suggest you just have it professionally detailed if it is really bad because your car will need a good d/a buff &polish&wax afterwards. If you do decide to go to a professional dont use a mobile or carwash style service, go to an established pro-detail shop. Clay works for light(real light) overspray depending on the type of overspray.

I clipped the side of my garage with my Mach and their was a prety heavy white paint transfer onto my blue paint, on the side scoop and just above the right rear tire on the quarter panel lip. I thought their was no way that was gonna come off, and I thought my blue paint was damaged for sure. I used the clay bar, and unbelievably all the white paint came off. Only a couple real light scratches from rubbing the side of the garage. The clay bar rules.

Definately go with a clay bar. Wash the car 1st to get all the dirt off, then use the clay bar, make sure to keep the area you are working lubricated. After you've clayed the car, i'd wash again, then put on a coat of polish, then a coat of glaze to really make it shine... personally, on my Black GT i use this clay kit. http://www.properautocare.com/blpoiikit.html

Autopia is an awesome detailing site...Massive amounts of terrific information.

I just bought a Zaino clay bar. Haven't had the chance to use it, but on the instructions that came with it said it was ideal for removing over spray  (industrial fallout, acid rain, paint overspray, rail dust, concrete dust, tree sap, asphalt, hard water spots and other environmental contaminants) . I personally don't have any, but I can't wait to get the other contaminants out of my paint. I'll be doing before and after pics when I get around to it.

Clay Bar will do wonders. it will make your car look like brand new. Just clay it, then use the carnuba way that comes with it, then use a nice finish reflection wax and u will be good to go
