Mustang Plus Carpet Kit Is Junk!

I know how you feel. My wife would have left the garage and probably still heard me cursing from inside the house if that happened to me.
However, I have ordered many things from Mustangs Plus and everything has been fine so far. But I do think you have to be very careful when ordering anything mail order or from the internet.
I can even one up your problem which btw pissed me off to no end. I ordered a gasket kit from Summit Racing for my GMC K1500 truck, which has a 350 in it. When the kit came I was ready to put my heads back on and after a half a day of re-assembling my engine that last thing I did was fill the radiator. Filling the radiator took an unusually long time. And suddenly I saw some water leaking to which I thought I must have forgotten to seal one of the intake bolts or something. WRONG, it was water leaking out of my dipstick tube! Can you say HOLY CRAP I just filled my engine with water! When I calmed down and looked at the part number on the gasket kit I found out that it was for an LT1 not a K motor truck engine, which has different water passages. I called Summit and notified them of the problem to which I received the comment from them of "You should have checked the part #'s before you installed them" I responded with a "well you should have checked the part numbers before you shipped it".
My lesson learned was the moment anything arrives the first thing I do is check the part #'s to the invoice and check those #'s to be the correct part numbers incase the order was placed wrong.
Sorry for the long post but if that helps one person then I feel better. Just remember to check those part numbers!

Sounds like you got a '64-1/2 - '65 carpet. Those don't cover the inside of the rocker panel or tuck up under the sill plates.

Sell it on eBay as "new in box" and buy the correct carpet *elsewhere* (MP should've accepted a return, given the obvious screw-up).

With the way bad customer service is so easily reported within the Mustang hobby, it beats me why some companies beg to be bad-mouthed.

FWIW, I'm happy with the carpet I got from NPD.

which is probably from the same manufacture as the M+ carpet. I bet you a buck that the carpet was mis-boxed. This happened to me at Summit. I paid $270 for a B-Cool radiator only to get a Griffin costing $189. Still have to get the difference back.

I have a 67 mustang convertible and I bought a new carpet from Mustangs Plus in January of this year and had no problems with the size. I had to trim both the sides and the front to make it fit properly. Maybe the manufacturer label the carpet wrong.

well, its probabyly the same manufacturer that made mine. i bought it from mustangs unlimited.... let it sit for 3 months or so like you, then installed it. yeah, the hump in the middle was molded wrong and its too big so theres this big bunch of carpet you can push down with your hand. i was so pissed off, i made it work though but was very unsatisfied with it. doesnt seem like it would be that hard when you are making thousands of these things. oh yeah, it was ACC custom carpet (the manufacturer)

I just got done talking with another friend who just had a bad product and then customer service experience with Mustangs Plus....I just don't understand how they stay in business since their prices are the HIGHEST on the market.
