Any ideas for a good vanity plate?

SWFTPNY...already ordered it! Too bad I'll bet getting my vanity plate before I'll get my GT vert. :notnice: This is once case where the CA DMV is actually better and faster than Ford Motor Company.

speaking of vanity plates...

Right now I have one for my 97GT. I have an 05 on order which should be delivered some time this next week. :banana: What is the best way to transfer that plate to the new vehicle (I live in CA) all of you California stangers? Could it be as simple as getting a new plate for the new car and then swap them/change registrations with the DMV? I don’t want to leave the vanity plate with the new owner when I sell my 97 and hope they will release it... I know I can call/check the DMV website but the choice between surfing a government website :bang: and coming here is a no brainer.

Oh in case anyone wonders my plate is ROHERYN. Any Lord of the Rings fan might know this one, those who don't; Aragorns gifted horse from Arwen (a horse of Rohan).

In CA, the vanity plate follows the driver, not the car. I paid my dealer the $45.00 transfer fee and they took car of all the paperwork.

Did you trade-in your previous vehicle when you purchased your new one at that time? My dealer mentioned something similar to what you described, but only on a trade-in scenario, which makes sense I guess, since they will be processing registration tasks for both vehicles anyway.

Rally,

I sold my car privately and kept the plates. When my new car was delivered, the dealer said he would be glad to process the plates throught DMV. I just wrote a check payable to DMV and gave it to the dealer. Hope this helps.

When I was a kid I was in an auto accident that damaged the speech center of my brain leaving me with an annoying stutter. I spent 17 years in speech therapy to get over it. That was years ago. Still stutter every now and then.

Anyway....... my license plate frame on my '66 Mustang read;

(across the top) POST G-G-GRADUATE; Rear View '66 License

(and on the bottom) SPEECH TH-TH-THERAPY........ The license was SSSSS66

I'd look in the mirror and see people chuckle when they got it.

I've ordered 3RD1 but may change it. I was thinking maybe;
0 FFFFF5;
OH FFF5; or
VSSSSS6.

i have this, but i wish I wouldve chosen this instead
