Mustang Plus Carpet Kit Is Junk!

ACC carpets do suck but what else do we have? I asked them about a hi quality custom carpet and they said they did not want to deal with me. I told them I would be willing to pay a 2:3.00 premium for "cadillac carpet" that they alreday had the mold for and they said "no way"!!!!!!!! What a bunch of *******s.

Hi, guys. Ron Bramlett here from Mustangs Plus. This thread was sent to me by one of our customers that thought I would like to respond to the negativity that's being directed towards my company. He is right. I do. The truth is, I actually started Mustangs Plus back in 1981 because I was dissatisfied with the way I was treated by a well known Mustang parts retailer. So, reading this thread has a special meaning to me. I told myself then that we would never treat our customers like that and over the years I've tried to build a business that doesn't treat people the way some of you have indicated that you've been treated. But every business has to have company policies that their employees can follow. And I agree, some of these policies are usually not what you, the customer, want to hear. That's why I've always made myself accessable to our customers so that anyone who is dissatisfied in any way can talk to me personally. Almost every every sales flyer and magazine that goes out to Mustangs Plus' customers has my name and my direct telephone number in it. Every year, my wife and I are at Mustang shows all over the country and talk to tons of our customers. And any customer who calls Mustangs Plus and asks for me is put through to me if I'm here or they can leave a message on my voice mail if I'm not. I'm not hard to find. Believe me, if there's any problem with any of our products, especially like what has been described here, or you feel you've been treated in an unprofessional way, I want to know. By the way, I know I've not received any calls from anyone here on this forum regarding these problems. As for the person with the carpet problem who started this thread, do not sell the carpet on ebay as has been suggested. You'll only hurt some other hobbiest by doing so. Please call me. I want to find out exactly what's going on. I'll be leaving Friday morning, the 15th, to go to the Fablous Fords Forever show at Knott's Berry Farm. I'll be back Tuesday the 18th. If by chance you'll be at Knott's, find me. If not, let's talk next week. Also, TMI is an upholestry manufactor and does not do carpet.

Just for the record you might wont to check out http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=534962 these are not the first threads like this that I have seen since I have been here. I had lurked under another name for 2 years before I purchased my stang. In spite of this I was going to buy rear leaf springs from your company but I wonted to look thought your catalog first. I noticed that your catalog that you use to charge for was now free so I thought it was a good time to get one. When I call to get the catalog the guy ask for my credit card for the catalog when I told him that the adds had been saying it was now free he said ” well I guess I will have to give it to you for FREE then”, in a smart A$$ tone, that kind of confirmed what everyone has said and now I’m looking for springs from someone else and it is to bad because I believe the grab-a-trak product line is pretty good stuff. And no I didn’t call you either because I had not purchased anything form you, but you lost a customer anyway. :notnice:

i have no clue what you guys are talking about. i guess that you all have really bad luck or something, becuase EVERYTHING i have gotten from them has worked like it was suppose to. they have ALWAYS gone above and beyond in helping me.

12sec67, what exactly did you do to install the carpet?

so if one person was a dick, you decide to never buy anything from them? i donno about you, but i never resort to that unless it is like the owner or something. why did you just ask for his name and talk to the floor manager?

and i would like to state that some of your are showing some lack of research here. Mustangs Plus doesn't sell TMI carpet (in fact, i dont think TMI makes carpet, only upholstery). Mustangs Plus sells Auto Custom Carpet (ACC) which is also sold my National Parts Depot and CJ Pony Parts. Blaming Mustangs Plus for the carpet not fitting is NOT THEIR FAULT! Then don't sell cheaply made, poor parts because they are the exact same stuff you get at NPD or CJ, which you all rave about.

Was it a TMI carpet set? Probably not and Mustang Plus tends to sell low quality parts and I would blame the Chinese for not being able read part numbers to ID the package correctlly. Mustang Plus is just passing on the savings to you!
see, ignorance. :nonono: if you knew what you were talking about, you would know that they sell ACC, which is American made and sold by EVERY MAJOR MUSTANG SUPPLIER!

That is too cool. A company owner who took the time out of running his business to talk to other mustang enthusiasts and to try and fix a screw up that happened over a year ago with a carpet kit! Damn I am impressed. So who again was talkin' smack about Mustangs Plus? :owned: Sounds like some of us have been possibly screwed and did nothing about it except accept it. Well I dig some of their stuff and I won't by everything from them, NPD is like 10 minutes from me, but I will continue to buy parts from them in the future.
Hey I hope who ever started this thread gets hooked up with a carpet kit that fits and looks great and then comes back to tell what happened. Bring us the good news reverend! LOL
BTW, what was Ron's email again I want that guy to sponser my car!

Perhaps the owners didn't know they had jerks working the phones because nobody ever complained to them. Of course, one or two people calling them isn't going to convince them; everybody that has a problem with their company needs to take the time to call the owners.

I did not hire the, in your own words “dick”. And because I have a choice and it is free countries I have choose not to purchase anything from him. It is my belief that if I don’t get good service when I am buying something I sure as heck am not going to get good service when I need help on a problem. He might wont to put in a call monitoring system to help improve his quality control. And why should I have to deal with someone that does not wont my business. That kid is a representative of Mustangs Plus and for that call he was Mustangs Plus. The money that I send goes to pay his salary and if I’m going to give money to someone it is going to be the guy I met at mustangs unlimited in CT or the guy I talked with at NPD or Johns mustang. ALL of which was willing to answer my question and take as long as need to make me feel comfortable. Remember I am the customer and it is not my responsibility fix there problems. I did on the other hand feel that like RonB was asking for input and that is why I posted. Up until that point I had kept my mouth shout.
And to quote Forest Gump
“ That’s all I have to say about that”

I know how that guy feels that posted the comment you mentioned. To me the person I deal with on the phone is my first impression of a company when I first call the company. I can see his point of view. And being a jerk is one sure way to insure you don't get my money.... I would like to say perception is reality. Maybe the guy didn't mean to be sarcastic...maybe it just seemed that way. Sometimes people don't realize they have to be careful how they say things. But as long as it's your money....spend it where you damn well please.... better yet....give me your money...and I will spend it where I damn well please... :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

Quality comes from within. If you wont to know how your phone service people are behaving on the phone they sell call-monitoring systems all day long. Small price to pay to make sure your phone people are on the straight and narrow. I know this because I have setup technical support call systems before. That way you will not have to take someone else word for it you can hear it for your self. Proactive is better than reactive any day. Remember it takes every call to keep a customer but only one to lose them forever.

I could buy every part you have purchased from them for full retail from other vendors and then sell it to you and make a healthy profit. If you have not figured it out yet ...

and dont you think the decent thing to do is to report this to his manager? many other stangers buy from them, and you have come across this ******* (which in all fairness, maybe it wasn't him. maybe you just took it wrong) but do nothing about it. Now, mustanags plus is not as large as other companies, but do you really think Ron Bramlett interviews each and every person that turns in an application? And even if he did, what if that person put on an act (like almost everyone does, to a point) during his interview? Look, maybe you don’t feel this way, but I consider it my responsibly to report people like this.

I do agree with you to a point but see post #33

mustang depot has done this for a long time.

mdjay much......

In my opinion it is ignorance for these suppliers to stay off of forums like this. M+ has been ripped on this forum and a few others many times. It amazes me that this is the first time they have came here and responded.

If he takes something from this thread it would greatly help the community. If they would stay involved it would better their reputation.

On a side note I have ordered some things from M+ and never had a problem.

Sorry you're getting slammed here Jester but I don't mean my quote that way. I know you have been burned and you don't want or have to got back to MP. But about your quote above, for a large company owner to take the time to read a forum, respond, and try to clear up a very old dispute sounds very much to me like someone who is very interested in making happy customers and wants your business. I mean think about it, how can MP prove that they sold that carpet kit to someone's girl friend a year ago. Yet because their reputation is at stake they are going to do what they can to clear up this issue and make a happy customer.
My opinion is this, to me Ron B. sounds like and appears to be a true Mustang Enthusaist like the rust of us, not just some only interested in profits business owner, and it should be up to us to tell him that there are some people working for him that have a bad attitude. We should help him the same way we help the rest of us when we have a problem. By that I don't mean you should go buy from him, that takes trust and clearly you have none with his company but maybe if you help him and given time Ron B. will be able to earn that trust back.
JMHO.
