Want to borrow stock 05 GT wheels for test fitment

I'm trying to determine if the 17" wheels from a 2005 Mustang GT will fit my car (custom application). I am currently running 99-01 Cobra 17X8 wheels and I need more positive offset to keep the tires from rubbing the fender lips. I think 05 Mustang wheels will work perfectly but don't want to buy until I know for sure.

So if anyone has an 05 Mustang GT, I'd like to swap two of your wheels onto my car for just a few minutes to determine if they fit correctly. No driving, just put the car on the ground and measure clearance. I would pay you a few dollars for your time/trouble.

I'm in south San Diego, CA and can do this on any weekend.

Hey Scott I will see if I can get you a set to try. I think I know where a set is. Are you planning on going to knotts?

Oh yeah whats the application :)

Yup I'll be at Knotts. It's for my LTD (pictured in my avatar). Due to the low slung fender lips, my wheels have to tuck inside the wheel wells much more than a Mustang.

The 99 Cobra wheels fit okay but the tires rub more than I care for. So it's either step down a tire size (which I don't want to do) or find wheels with more positive offset.

I used to have a set of cheapie Eagle wheels (right) which had like a +38 offset and they fit well, so I think the +45 offset of the 05 Stang wheels would be a great fit, plus I love the look of the Bullitts.

Ya never can tell with some people. If I said "duh, what do you think it's going on?" someone may get offended, heh.

Usually there's like 5 or 6 LTDs at the show, but it looks like this year there may be just a couple. So look for me in the "Other Fords" section.
