Charger orders pile up

I think it's a nice car...read the whole post before you bash me :)...It's just not a Charger. Ask yourself, "If this car was named something totally new or even the Magnum sedan, would it be a nice car?" My answer is yes. Dodge dropped the ball on the Charger name but it is a nice SEDAN

In my opinion...

Now, I could maybe accept that chop as an acceptable Charger.

Oh yeah... I chopped the back door, put a classic open grille with a Charger logo, and put GTS-style blackouts on the headlights.

I mean, come on. I'm no car designer, and even I can do a better job of making a Charger look more like it should.

Boo Dodge.

Hmm I would be interested to know how true this is because i can'y believe that many people are stupid enough to buy that car. I don't know much about chargers but i do know that isn't one :nonono:

People DO NOT give a **** if its a CHARGER or what a Charger looked like 30 years ago. The only people who care are dumbass people still living in the 70s. They see a roomy, 4 door sports sedan with a high powered Hemi for $30K and they want it, just like they do with the 300C. I'll take one anyday :nice:

lol, whatever man
My statement is 100% true and there are many people who refuse to buy it or even acknowledge as a charger because of the fact it has so little in common with the older chargers

Its the same thing that happened with the gto, if your going to bring back a muscle car that hasn't been in production for years you have to make it resemble its predecessors otherwise it will bear nothing in common with them
The only thing this thing has is the hemi, everything else just looks like crap

Too bad they didn't stick with the concept model they had, that thing looked nice

you have a point.

there is some merit to what you say. I think the older ones wont buy it though,,,

I don't know if I would say that people are stupid for buying the new Charger. The problem is the name not the car. There is nothing wrong with the car, it's probably a great car, it's just not a Charger. Maybe they should have called it the Plymouth Fury or something like that.

I was less than 10 years old for the entire 70's, so I have no interest in reliving that era of my life. Oh...it's not a Charger BTW.

Didn't T-bird orders pile up as well, Weren't they so hot you had to pay a premium to even get one?

Where's the mighty T-bird today? That's right on it's last production year and then dead again.

this is true...but the t-bird at least it resembeled the thunderbirds of yore. this looks like a plain dodge sedan with a hemi.

FYI, Plymouth is dead as a car brand.

It may be, but Chrysler would resurrect a name like Road Runner in a heartbeat if they thought they could sell a 100,000 or so.

The problem w/ that charger isn't the name or the 4 doors, it's the fact that it's plain ugly. It may have a nice engine, and it may be affordable, but it's pretty hard to look at IMO. If the 05 stang had the 300 hp, but it looked like the Mustang II I don't believe they would be selling like they are.
