Can I put in a aftermarket clutch quadrant with out putting in a fire wall adjuster or an ajustable clutch cable. I think $45 for a stock plastic replacement one is a rip off especially since there going for like $10 on ebay(metal aftermarket).

How hard would it be to install a firewall adjuster?

Thanks
Derek

i had my quad out in about 20 mins. dont hold back from breaking the plastic one out of the way, found that worked better then being gental. put the other one in there and start prying it into place...

This may sound like alot more work but made it way easyer, undo the dash and pull the 6 bolts for the stearing collum and take that out (it slides apart) then you can get at the quadrent from the top. Have done it twice without pulling the collum, and once taking it out and did it about an hour faster and with alot less swearing and I could stand upright the next day.

I just did mine. Got a Steeda quadrant and FWA off Ebay for $35. Yeah, it's a real PITA laying on your back and getting up in there! To make life easier, pull the drivers seat (real easy), drop the steering column down, lay a piece of carpet or thick blankets down on the floor and have good light up in there. The old quadrant really isn't that hard to remove. After you get the cable and quadrant out, push the steel arm with the factory self adjuster all the way up and there's just enough room to slide it off. I removed the spring behind the quadrant and substituted shims for correct spacing. I had no idea what I was doing and it took about an hour! Good luck!
