Lately My good ol 2.3 Has started having Oil Pressure problems with an EXCESSIVE OIL LEAK! (3-5 quarts per 3k miles) I've been looking for a few weeks to find a 2.3 Turbo Motor

thats what I came up with, Can anyone else tell me what I would need to start to get started after that? Right now My Trans Is an A4LD Auto, Still runs absolutely gorgous will the rear end and such be able to take that motor?

Dude, you're lucky my engine wasn't really blown, or you'd have had competetion for that auction. I'd go ahead and get what you need for a T-5 swap. That trans would probably be able to handle the extra power, but a manual is just more fun. The rear end is standard, and can handle the turbo motor. If you swap in a T-5, you might want to go with a manual rear end gear too. it's not a big difference but I am using the automatic gear with my manual trans and it seems a little over torqued vs. hp. But I kinda like that better for take off. Have fun converting to turbo, and enjoy your boosting!

Awsome! So all I need is To Do the engine swap and im done? Im VERY happy to hear the A4LD will hold up to her, I Cant wait to get this project going!

I've wanted to be apart of the turbo gang for over a year! the very first thing Im doing to it is giving it an Intercooler, That'd be appropriate right?

Keep in mind that todays smooth shifting a4ld, is tomorrows steaming pile of streded chineese parts.

Bhuff is running a turbo 2.3 auto, he would have the most info for you.

Your going to need to do a wiring converstion and your going to need LB (or any auto 2.3T) series computer to make it run. Its not hard or exspensive if you have the basics down.

Yeah I've been reading alot of Stingers Posts. Im just happy that the Auto Will hold up.

I dont plan on running it for more then 10-15Lb's of boost Until I can get the car the way I want it.

It seems like a very good start :)

Hey,
Cougar pretty much got it right with the A4ld. It is somewhat strong, but not durable at all. The A4ld will not tolerate heat at all. Excessive heat is generated from power braking it, but a big tranny cooler will help with that.
I was just thinking we need to have another KC 2.3 gathering. We could do another BBQ type thing clinton lake.

Hopefully I wont be power breaking it, I'm going to treat it very very nice until I have the T-5 (which is in my garage) installed.

I'll look into a Transmission Cooler as you suggested, Is it increadibly hard to switch from Auto to Stick? Im leaning to "yes"

Any more Info and Suggestions are GREATLY appreciated! thanks guys!
