Black rims on white cars?

I am getting really close to pulling the trigger on a performance white GT with red interior. I have been thinking about what wheels to put on. One of the wheels I am considering is the Falken Koblenz in Black with a chrome lip. See the link below. The dealership had a black Roush with these rims in black 19x9 up front and 19 x 10.5 out back. It looked bad a55!!! :nice: The rear 10.5 set up allowed the tire to extend about 5mm beyond the wheel well (just barely). This gave the car a very aggressive look without sticking out too far and looking "blingeriffic". Let me know what you guys think. Weight is supposed to be about 30-32 pounds

They look very aggressive. 30-32 pounds per wheel is a lot of unsprung weight! What is the weight if the stock wheel? Will you have any clearance/rubbing issues if the wheel sticks out of the fender?

Stock wheel is about 27 lbs. I doubt i will feel 3-5 lb per wheel. The tires just barely protrude. You really don't even notice it. The wheel set up just looks more agressive which leads you to a closer look and then you notice it. I don't plan to lower the car since I prefer a somewhat compliant ride so rubbing is not likely to be an issue. Now I just need to find a wholesaler with a good price.

BTW DOC GTO, I also dig GTOs. Just like the GT a little bit more overall. That GTO drivetrain (and the seats) is to die for though.

O.K. Anybody know where I can get a set of gray or black wheels with a polished lip that weigh less than 30 pounds without spending my kid's college fund? I know I can have custom wheels made with HRE etc but I will not pay more than 350 per wheel. Any thoughts? Looking for 19x9 and 19x10 or so

I had a white F250 FX4. I changed the wheels to black rock crawlers and added a 4" black fender flare and it looked awesome.

You will not be disappointed with the set up.

Cool. The only place you may "feel" the wheels/tires weight would be on a road course/race track (unsprung weight). Everyday street driving will not be an issue! Looks good.

wheels/just some help...

actually the Falken wheels weigh lighter than the stock pre 05 gt rims. you should contact Falken direct ,and I have not found a better price than SEARS they actually have the newer style of that wheel too. tires were a little pricey but you can get those somewhere else... :nice:

Very interesting choice.

I ordered a set of 20" Falken Koblenz Rims about 3 weeks ago and they should arrive any day now. I picked up my white Stang with red leather yesterday from the dealer, so when I get the wheels on I will post some pics for you.
When doing my research I found the 20" in rims preferable to the 19", as for one, the tire are actually cheaper ( 19" is not as popular size), but all the dealer told me Falekn do not make them available in a staggered set up anymore

I think it would look cool. Just be careful. You have a white car, red seats, black rims. Throw in painted calipers and...I'm not saying it wn't look good. I actually think the colors will compliment each other. Just keep in mind that there will be a lot of colors on you car.
