looking for advice for my 5.0

Edelbrock Performer RPM's, Trick Flow Twisted Wedge, AFR 165. These are all good high flowing aluminum heads. Match them with a good equivilant intake and camshaft, mated with proper exhaust and fueling and you will have some serious horsepower. For your exhaust, your best bet would be a good 2 1/2" exhaust with either shorty or longtube headers (LT make a bit more power) and a good catback of your choice.

i might hit up the other side (i think i posted on your thread about this). there are enough nuances between the two set ups (esp with puter tune and what the crappy SN puters like).

good luck.

those late model V6's with autos are not too shabby - i can see how that can happen (through no real fault of lotsoflettersposter. :) ). that is not a macho answer, but one that is true, IMHO.

just a note on LT headers.
If your car is as low as my 89 lx u might have problems.

I bent the hell out of the drivers side LT I had on mine when I first rebuilt it.
I caught the collector on a speed bump ingles had just had put in.
Needless to say they fixed it but it did render the car usless.
It bent so bad it pushed the header up against the rag joint area of the steering making it like driving a school bus with manual steering.

I went to short tubes after that. I can still bang the H pipe every so often but if it gets bent it is usually the hangers and can be pulled back.

Theres nothing worse than hearing ur H pipe vibrate against the crossmember.

lotsoflettersposter, im missing something
it was an attempt at humor - I was going to refer to you by name, but could not figure out a decent way to do so (I guess JPYJ would work - but it does not flow out of my fingers). So I referred to you (and your username) as Lots-of-Letters-Poster. :)
it was just an attempt at humor - nothing more. you will find that I do this late at night.

P.S. I can edit it to whatever you wish in case it bothers you. :)

have you tried some basic bolt-ons first to see where that puts you?

I have a friend with a 04' 5speed v6(the 3.9L) with some bolt ons. its pretty quick. I beat him, but if I was stock he might of taken me

Nutcase has a good point.

being yor total stock U could gain a fair amount just by bolt ons and exhaust.

Then when u do drop heads on it your making that much more power.

Rear gears would be where I would start.
That will make your car feel 100% stronger. + gears are way cheaper

haha no i get it now, i thought u were saying something to me about posting so much tonight haha, my name says jeep YJ ford mustang, those are the vehicles i own JPYJ is fine
ok, cool. I was too lazy to cut/paste your name, which is what i should have done (when i tried to decipher it the first time, my eyes crossed about 6 times. :) ).

with the TF set up, I might shoot Scott (Mo Dingo - he is on the 94-95 side) a PM. he just put that on his SN, IIRC. There are a few things that are different on the 94-95's vs a fox that you have to work with (spacers and what not). fox guys have more room under the hood to make it all fit.

good luck with the decisions. even a tuner to help the pathetic SN puter out might help ya. the part throttle fuel and timing curves kind of suck, as does the tip-in.

good luck.

ok, my turn to be confused. :)
Scott just put TW heads on his 95 GT. but he happens to have a great how-to on gear installation in his sig. Gears are a great idea, IMHO.

good luck with it!

whos scott, and thanx to everyone for taking the time to tell me this stuff
Here is Scott

He had some threads about his Heads install but they were washed away during the crash. He might have some insight into the install though, should you choose to do TW heads or gears (he has done both and is a cool guy).

good luck.
