I found a car locally that has what I want. It's silver (my 2nd choice) instead of WV blue. With luck, I'll take the plunge this weekend and cancel the order from that less than truthful dealer-o-mine. :p

MyBlueOval's Silver Oval!
Report back Oval. Good luck.
:owned:

Well, I did it and I'm not regretting it (paid MSRP). While I couldn't find a WV blue I did find a satin silver GT convertible, 5-speed, air bags, shaker 1000. I drove it down PCH today and it was a blast! Yes, I spent $2k more than I would have on x-plan but now I can enjoy the SoCal summer in my vert instead of waiting and wondering when my order will actually be filled. :bang:

Here is a picutre after the full Zaino treatment. Their products rock. The hood is like a mirror in my garage! I highly recommend the Zaino line.

congrats, blueoval. you bit the bullit and it didn't kill you------feels good doesn't it? i hope you have many miles of trouble free driving. our order list of 06's is filling fast, so your value will be protected for at least another year.
again: i am glad you broke down and bought a mustang.

YOU DA MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blue Oval-I think you will love that color. It was originally way down my list of favorites, but the more of these I see the more I like it. The dark top makes nice contrast on the silver.

I have an extra gt vert available in Ga if anyone is looking for one. I have 2 redfire gt verts on order--(Dark charcoal interior; IUP; bullit wheels; shaker 500) One came in this weekend-Warner Robbins, GA. I am probably going to decline it because my original order now has 5-16 build date and that dealer has been straight w/ me and they have my deposit. This dealer ordered car w/o deposit; promised me x-plan pricing and they got the car in 1 month. They probably will not give it up to someone else at x-plan, but I assume they would probably do MSRP. Warner Robbins is about 2 hours south of Atlanta and about 2 hours north of Savannah. Let me know before I decline it and I will put anyone in touch w/ the salesman I'm dealing with.

i may have an extra gt vert available in milwaukee in six plus weeks or so . . . the original dealer is being an a$$ about canceling my order. you'd think that since my order is for 1k under sticker, they'd be happy to let me out of it and resell the car for more. but nooooooo, they'd much rather just be a dick about the whole thing. let me know if anyone wants a torch red vert in the upper midwest.

Hey.. Just a thought. Why not buy the car somewhere where the dealership has it in stock. I live in south GA and I test drove a new one the other day while my cobra was being serviced. They have 5 in stock on the lot.. Come on down to GA and get one! The guy told me theyd take 1000 off sticker price. .. that was 27k with leather and shaker 1000.. Nice car.

This tells me that demand has cooled significantly. Brewtown-your experience is similar to mine as to the attitude of the salesman. Mine was going to sell to me at x-plan, and he's pissed I may not take the car. Either the demand for this car is cooling off or we both have lazy salesmen. It's probably both.

Padg-the reason a lot of people have ordered their cars is because when they wanted one (months ago) none were available @ reasonable prices. Now it seems like the inventory is starting to back up--we shouldn't really be surprised--we all got caught in the grip of car lust.

If anyone is interested, the dealer is Warner Robbins Ford in Warner Robbins, GA; salesman is Ben Britt; 478-922-9131. It's a redfire gt vert (see previous post for details) for under $30 k. I think they will honor x-plan pricing.

My salesman was actually very nice to deal w/. I just spoke to him to tell him I was not taking the car he ordered for me, and he was fine.

We are quick to jump on dealers & sales people, so maybe I need to take some blame for jerking this guy around. He took my order w/ no deposit; offered x-plan pricing and ordered my car w/ the spoiler deleted, and now I'm backing out.

He is the kind of salesman we need more of: Ben Britt warner Robbins Ford in Warner Robbins, GA 478-922-9131.
