How does V.8 compare to V.6?

Tomazbzvz

The floor or your c5 IS made form balsa wood. You have no idea what your talking about, none at all, trust me you are a very funny person. Fiberglass has not been used on a corvette since 1982 einstein. Go back to ls1 . com and read a bit more.

And to Droptop5.0 any ls1 car auto or manual will run 13's very easily. in CA atleast. Do you live at the top of pikes peaK?

Do you have those timeslips yet tomabzdedzx?

Hmmm

I love my car.. old grey haired guys cars (ie. vettes) are ugly and TA's well dont' even get me started... (but have to be about the gayest looking automobiles on the road unless of course you're stuck in the 80's and sport some mean fuzzy dice. Get out of the trailer park doublewide and experience what a real car feels like) Again, mustangs are hot, I love my 04', not all hyped on the 05' but still a fan 100%

Just my .02 :)

Dont really care what car is yours. Never liked those old cars and never liked the Camaros either (new or old).

Sorry, Vette always was from day one, fiberglass. Go look at one thats been hit. You will see what fiberglass looks like, I guess you dont know. You can tell just by looking at the paint. You are so smart. Buy another Mustang.

$35k for a 3 year old vette? I can go to a dealer and buy a new 04 vette for $41k.

Looked it up on kbb.com $30k for an 02 vette in excellent condition with 30,000 miles on it.

if you go on ebay, they have a modded 2002 z06 for $37500.

And yes it will go down in value. You can pick up a 97-99 vette for under $20k. Thats $10k (or $15k according to you) that you can expect to lose in the next 3 years. Thats about 60% of a new 05 gt, that you are going to lose.
And as far as the "no replacement for displacement" i believe that firmly... but someone needs to tell that to porsche or ferrari for that matter (i believe the new 4.3 liter pushes around 480horsepower with no power adder).

fazm83 has a point here. My brother has a 3rd Gen RX-7 that pushes around 400hp on a conservative tune (yes he does have a turbo, but they come with twin turbos stock from the factory). I believe his engine is only like a 1.3 liter engine.

Im not takin anything away from the ls1 motor, its an incredible motor. In my 01 trans am (i miss that thing) i had the 382slp stroker motor. it was rated at 550hp. with only 14psi it was putting down 881 at the wheels.

Just because 1 person gets their stock ls1 corvette to run a 12.98, does not make it a 12 second car. When the trans am was stock magazines were testing it at 13.3. With just a change of tires i got a 12.97, but thats not stock.

Yes, I have seen several LS vettes run MID 12's, stock. WITH MY OWN EYES!!! Yes.
Just because everyone cant drive the car that well dosent mean its not a 12 second car. So if I go to the track and run 15's, does that make and LS1 a 15 second car? Didnt think so.

NO no no , not BS. Just passed the dealer about 15 minutes ago. There was AT LEAST 10 GT's in front. Just because in your hick state they dont have them dosent mean there not in NY. Call ANY dealer on LI and ask. If you want I will give you some phone #'s.

Dosent look like 30K, does it?

And there is NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT. Yeah, 480hp? Whats your point? A bigger motor with the same internal specs will produce more. Why do you think they increase the motor size? DUHHHHHHH
