hey everybody,
I got my new wheels and tires on and I really like the way they look. I got the nitto nt555s with 245/40/18s up front and 295/45/18s in the back. Now my only problem is the back tires rub really bad on the insides where they hit the wheel well. I was wondering if there was anything I could do besides tubbing it out because I don't want to buy any more tires for a while. I was also wanting to lower it with some eibach springs but I don't know if there is any way to do that with such large tires in the back. Thanks for the help. :flag: I will post some pics once I get the photobucket account to work.

You probabily should have gone with a 30 or 35 aspect ratio, but hindsight is 20/20. Just don't lower it till you get the rubbing problem solved, because that will only make it worse. If your going to get springs you may want to look in to coilovers, I know that means $$$, but then you can adjust the ride hieght to accomidate your tires and it will allow you to lower it the next time you buy smaller tires with out spending a dime.

my 295/35/18's rub on the fender well, under flex(turning into parking lots). Weight jacker lower control arms, might help, but that is 400 bucks. definately don't drop it if it already rubs. You might just have to sell the tires, and swallow your pride a little. Spring isolators might help, they lifted my car up a little. Good luck

You may have to go with 275/35-18s in the rear. The fronts have a rolling diameter of about 25.6 inches and the rears you have now are over 27 if my math serves me correct. The 275s with have the same 25.6 which may fix your rubbing peoblem! I'm sure you could recoup some of your money by selling the 295s.

hey I am going to go to a local shop on Sunday to see if they can weld some wheel wells in. If they can't then I will probably have to swallow my pride and sell them.

Thanks again
slytherin: What about putting in some wheel spacers?
I was going to put the wheel spacers on but then I noticed the outside of the tire was rubbing a little so it would be just as bad as the inside.

check and make shure its the fender well rubbing if thats the case sell the tires and find the next size down, BF goodrich makes other sizes in street drag radials too. my cobra was rubbing the tire with A bolt that holds the IRS in place; Ilowered the car with eibachs and problem solved except it still rubs over hard bumps but what lowered stang does'nt. :damnit:
