Well the last time i went to the track my fastest time (in 40 degree weather) was a 14.644 at 94.23 with a 2.121 60ft. I went to the track today and ran 14.018 @ 99.08 with a 2.083 60ft with a dry 75 shot. Doesnt this seem a little slow? Maybe its just me im not sure. Any ideas?

thanks

It does sound a little low. But if you think about it you aren't taking real advantage of your Nitrous. The main problem is that you have all stock parts with nitrous. If you do the intake you will see large gains with the 75 shot.

Yeah I do need to put that intake. I just havent found time to do it and I need and elbow and some other misc. things. I was thinking about buying pulleys and maybe bumping my timing up a little and see what that does.

Im not sure about the injectors or not. The guy I bought the kit from said I wouldnt need to change injectors or anything until i go over a hundred shot. Maybe i need to talk to him somemore about my setup and see what he says cause I want to bump up to a 100 shot soon :nice:

You did gain over half a second with the 75 shot. Looks like the nitrous is working. Not bad at all. Do you have a bottle warmer? What was the pressure of the bottle? Bottle pressure is absolutely essential. If you are not spraying at at least 900psi, you are not making the full 75 shot.

Also watch your timing with nitrous - Nitrous increases cylinder pressure, if you detonate on nitrous, it could hurt pretty bad. Generally, you want to run stock timing on a 75 dry shot and retard timing by -2 with a 100 shot and then -4 with a 150 shot. I couldn't advanced my timing on a 75 shot and I have 24lb injectors. With the 100 shot I have to run 8* timing or it will ping.

According to all the manufacturers, you don't need to upgrade injectors for a 75 shot. I don't think that there is more to be gained from N2O with a bigger combo - 75 shot on one motor is the same 75 shot on another motor. Nitrous is not like a supercharger which adds oxygen by forcing more atmospheric air into the motor, thus benefiting from air flow. Nitrous adds the oxygen chemically. The only difference with a bigger combo is that you have more HP to begin with. A 100 shot will not add any more HP to a highly modified motor than it will to a stock motor.

I hope this helps and I also hope I'm not giving incorrect info. :(

Thats what my friend said. Hes sponsored by edelbrock nitrous systems and he said a 75 shot was rated on a stock motor so it wont gain anymore on a highly modified motor. I didnt have a bottle warmer when I ran today. I didnt start running a lot lower until the afternoon untill it was almost 80. The nest thing i am buying is an NOS bottle warmer and my system is on a WOT switch which i would think would better benifit from a regular switch on my shifter but I want to make what I have work for now. If I do go to a 100 shot I will deffinatly retard the timing before I run it.

thanks

I'm going to have to concur here... I think you're on par here with the nitrous... if you could up it to 125 shot I think you'd be deep in the 13's with decent driving... provided you have traction of course...

See I dont know about all this stuff that Im going to have to do cause my friend with the drag car is pretty noligable(spelling) on this stuff. He went low 10's out what exactly I am going to do. with a stock cam. I just need to figure

I dont know what happened in that last post i was a little intoxicated at the time. So obviously the NOS is working cause i gained 6 tenths. I guess the next thing to do would be to get a bottle heater and pulleys. How does that sound?

those times are off par does sound like nitrous isnt activating .
i think the mph should be higher .
auto or 5 speed if its an auto i can see why.
and u wont nneed to upgrade your injectors and stuff for a while
i run a 150 dry shot with a fuel pressure regulator and 255 pump.

yeah i think your mph is a little low. i trap at 98-99 on motor with minimal bolt ons and similar 60 foot times, and with a 50 shot i was trapping at 102. do you have a pressure gauge? bottle pressure is very important as the others have said.
