i'm getting tires either this week or next for a set of bullitts i picked up. 17x8.

i want to get some nitto 245's 555's for the front and 275's 555R's for the back.

what are your opinions on these tires? i dont race much but want some good dry traction and only drive in the rain when i'm stuck in it.

how long do these tires last?

thanks

well how long they last all depends on how often you burn out w/ them, generally a set will last about 15,000 miles from what I have read. I just put a pair on mine as well and so far I really like them, when I stomp on it as hard from last yr when the back end would come loose it hasent now, it sticks to the road very well. Even though I have not had them on long I still havent done any burn outs or launches w/ then to see just how sticky they are.

Ive run the nittos out back for a while now. They are great, they even handle better in the rain than my regular street tires. Mine last about a year so thats like 12k-14k and thats with regular track duty so it may be even longer for you.

555r's last anywhere from 10000 to 15000, depending on use and level of thrashing. :rlaugh:

My brother 315's lasted 12500 with a couple trips to the track, very light burnouts (mostly to clean dirt/rocks off of tires).

thanks for the reply's guys.

i got the rims from a guy that works with my brother. they were only 1 week old and he only wanted $600 Canadian.

theres some fbody guys who want to do a group purchase so i plan on joining to save a few bucks. i have no idea when there doing it tho.

I use nothing but,Nitto tires and they are great tires for the money! :nice:
They have a great tread live.My last pair of Nitto's lasted my 17K miles
with normal street and highway driving.Wet or dry surface they seem
to performance great.I highly recommend you get a set of Nitto's! :D :nice:

I used to run Nitto 275/40/17's up front and the same size Nitto DR's in back. Wasnt too bad, but they definately rubbed in front well before the wheel was fully turned in either direction. I usually got 10-12k out of a set of the DR's

i have michellin pilot sports- i had nitto's before and they were garbage the handling, ride, and wear are second to none ant they DONT make any noise, mine lasted 18k of normal driving with some burnouts in between, there is a reason why they cost more...there just better just like how bilsteins are better than tokicos! get the pilots you wont be dissapointed.

Just bought 1 new nitto 555. Got a flat yesterday on the interstate and there wasnt even a hole in the tire, stupid valve stem leaked all the air out. But since it was a construction zone I couldnt pull over and throw a spare on it and it ruined my brand new tire that had like 2k miles on it. At least I got another one at price with free install.

Mine are starting to get low on tread after about 6,000 miles...I'm actually looking into getting some more:bang:

I drive semi-aggressive around curves but I'm not bad. They didn't/don't last as long as I thought but I love the traction they gave me and will be getting them again...
