So I got a shock from my ford racing wires today. I heard that the are known for having crapy boots. Anyways I'm loking to get a new wires any suggestions?I want something with a 90 to the plug to keep the boot away from the header like on my msd's.

One word on the Taylors, when I change plugs (which I do alot),the metal ends inside the boots like to come out. And,sense there a molded on boot, you cant put them back in tightly (or you will always worsy about if there working). They make a tool to remove them with out pulling the piece out,but I still had it happen now and then.

msd's. I had a set of Livewires before the msd's. The resistance was from 1500-3000ohms on the livewires. The highest msd resistance was 175ohms. And the msds were cheaper.

Actually, the boots on the Taylors are not molded on.
Just pull and twist and they will come off of the wire.
Then you can use a little dielectric grease to slide them back on once you have reinstalled the metal wire-end.

But, I know what you mean, I have pulled like 4 of mine off a few times and even though I think I put them back together properly, I alway's wonder. And for as much money as these things cost! They aught to hold together a little better.

I have had the taylors, the Ford wires and MSD's and currently run with Performance distributor Liewires. I must say these are nice wires. I did like the taylors alot but they melted from the header heat. I guess it all depends on what your going for I hope these will last a while.

Anything besides MSD wires.:nice:

I have them and I hate the bastards, but I believe they suck becuase of the place I ordered them from sent me a universal set instead of the custom fit mustang ones.

thats probably why you dont like them. I have been running my msds for awhile now and love them no complaints at all. They really get a good grip on the plug and cap. Unlike other plugs that are sloppy with a loose fit.

I just recently got my MSDs on. They were the universals, but I custom fit them to the stang. Work awesome and the resistance measures really low on all of them. The 90 boots have no problems with touching the headers, and they look badass. Price was decent and it took me about 3 hours to get them all done.

my ford wires are 2 years old now.they work great.i just took them off to put on my mom's 86 f-150 5.0 truck because the old autolites got burnt from being too close to the manifold.i just ordered another set of ford wires for the stang.hard to beat motorsport stuff.

No .. the custom ones suck too . I paid 75 bucks for a set . They lasted 6 months and started burning thru . Some in the middle of the wire , some at the cap boots . At no point did they touch a hot surface .
