Tri Ax shifter's question

I have a 2004 Mustang GT. I just ordered a Tri ax shifter(TR 3650)will it fit??. And also, i wanna ask you guys. What are the advantages and dis-advantages?? I heard it makes noise...what kind of noise?

I have the tri-ax for my Tremec 3550 and it's unbelievable...The shifts are great, no complaints at all...The noise u hear is from the shifter being a shortened mechanical one, not a smooth stock one...

depending on the state of the tranny you will still miss gears, tri-ax made a huge difference 3 years ago when i got mine, though now my tranny is going to hell so i'm grinding and missing alot. forks have to be bent or at least off center.

the noise that you are thinking of is a metalic clinking, very solid metal on metal noise. nothing major, and i only get it in 1-2 and sometimes 2-3. its kinda a nice sound for me since the tranny is going out and making it hard to shift, the noise lets me know when i actually AM in gear. after the first month or so you will quickly forget about it.

a lot of grinding problems are clutch adjustment related. most mustang drivers and a whole lot of mechanics can not tell a good clutch adjustment from bad. when i first drove my car it was awfull you could not shift fast without a grind. well i got the steeda quad/adjuster. and with the correct adjustment it don't grind now.

another thing that can cause your problem is the use of shift stops in a aftermarket shifter. these horrible little bolts kill more trannys.. they cause undershifts that bend the shift forks. and our trannys do not need these transmission tourture devices, the tremec transmissions all come with built in stops.

the tri-ax is way better than stock. feels firmer and the springload is nice. when you get it its not like the stock shifter you dont need to guide the shifter into 3rd. its selfcentering and 2-3 upshift can be done with the palm of your hand pushing straight up.

i am aware of the internal stops so i do not use the bolts. however i was not familier wit the clutch issue. I'll grab a quad, cable, and FW adjuster to see if it takes care of it... been having a ton of issues reciently, so it would be nice if you were correct.
