Ss Vs Bullitt

It's not likely that he would blow it up without a tune. The only major change that NEEDs to be done is changing the displacment in the tune. The EEC uses the entered displacment to calulate load. So With more air coming in he is just going to 100% load sooner, thus richening it up sooner. It will run better with a tune though.
Do you realize he pretty much has a totally new engine in his car? Bored and stroke shortblock. I cant remember if the heads were done but I bet its running lean.

If you do race him thought, i know for a fact you gonna smoke him.
I raced an SS last night , he was pretty much stock besides the magnaflow's. And he was Auto also. Anyways my 2004 (Manual)GT is ALL STOCK besides the mac CAI. 1st and 2nd gear I was ahead then when i shift to 3rd he passes me slowly and ends up about 5 meters ahead and thats about it.The only thing that i forgot to mention is that he's SS is a 97 , so that makes it an LT1. okay nevermind then , but anyways , just for everyones info if they ever wanted to race an LT1.

Based on what? Care to ellaborate what part of that equation throws off the MAF reading so that is doesn't know how much air is entering the engine?

Hmmm, its VERY hard to say...if your car is tuned that will help power a bunch, howver I seriously doubt you will blow your engine. You have any pinging? If not then your not in any danger and your car prolly isnt lean or anything. The 302 stroker from what i was "told/proved" kills topend power pretty good on a restrive head setup like ours...add FI and it makes more torque with the same HP. TQ and power is greatly increased in the low RPMs, but like I said mid-upper HP are quite abit lower. Unfortunatly you use mid-upper HP in a race, so im going to say that right off the line (traction providing) you should have him, but expect him to come creeping past by the end of 2nd gear. BTW I have raced a dyno tuned 02 M6 SS with my mods, and lost...not bad at all, he passed me after I went into 3rd from a 10MPH roll(His A/C OFF)....the car seemed to get faster the more times we raced (3)...1st time was from about 75 to 112...he started at about my door then by 112 I was at the rear of his door. It was VERY close, SLOW pull (he had his A/C on on that run for sure, but im pretty sure it shuts off at WOT). 3rd run from 60-65 he pulled slowly past about 2-3 cars to 115 (5800RPMs..I know, i dont have much power up there...it was about like a slow walk)...Hope that helps, I dont care what anyone says, a bolton GT will have his hands full with a properly driven M6 SS LS1. The 02 puts down 286RWHP on a mustang dyno. (had a K&N filter on the dyno...had a paper filter in for about a month when we raced)

:stupid:

BTW i think it should be very very close. this will be a drivers race with a slight edge going too the LS-1 with equal drivers.

Hmmm….guess I’m the only one here who thinks he’s still going to get his @$$ handed to him, huh?

CoastHigh 5.1L Stroker kit, block bored .020, Forged Rods, Forged Crank, Forged/Dished Pistons, 9:5:1 Compression, BBK Headers, BBK Underdrive Pulleys, K&N w/o silencer, UPR O/R X Pipe, Flowmaster Catback, 4.10's, Eibach Sportlines, 2001 Cobra Front Bumper, Cobra R Hood.
Those mods combined can’t be good for much more than about 270-280rwhp. Stroker kits don't have as big an impact on mod motors at they to the OHV ones.

If you go from a dead stop like racing is meant to be and come out of the hole clean you might get lucky, but if you fall pray to going from a roll, I think that big LSI is going to stretch it's legs on ya.

ss vs. gt

In any racing it has alot to do with traction. i raced an ss a week ago. we raced from a dead stop and i took him off the line so bad that he had no chance of catching up. He had street tires and an auto. spun a little too much to catch the stang.

Figure the Trans Am or Camaro is about a Full second quicker then a Mustang GT. A supercharger will put your car in there league.

more like .4-.7 quicker. a full second is based on a average run of a 99+ compared too evan smiths 12.9 in a stock SS that is a absolute perfect run by a expert driver in perfect conditions. the best i have seen with a good driver is a 13.1 and i know a stock 99+ 5 speed can go 13.8 or so. with average drivers your likly too see 13.7 or so out of a ls-1 and 14.3 or so out of a GT,.

with good driving you can hang to a point with LS-1's well too a point. the trick is get a perfect launch and if you can put a car or 2 on him you may have a chance. either way after the quarter you are done.

^yep, but we will be catching up to you, and on the street there really is no stopping point, unless prearranged, so if he is catching up and you decide to get out of it because your at about 100MPH...you gonna have 1 mad LS1 driver, and will probably call you a pansy for stopping before he passed you LOL(i dont see it taking him to 100 to catch you unless he really screws the launch. If you get out of it before he starts to catch you (50MPH) then he will say you let off too early and was not fair. I think you should take it to the track really, that way there is a clear stopping point and its a REAL 1/4 mile. EDIT: LOL, that bullitt got OWNED RE: :owned: by that LS1...my race was MUCH closer, especially from the 10MPH punch in 1st gear...he got KILLED from the dig LOL. the LS1 seemd like it had some freegin slicks on it, it launched like mad.
