Well After having the car since yesterday, I slapped the new flowmaster axel-back on the car this evening. I really like the way the look and the sound is great. The car has a nice idle that sounds throatier and a very nice acceleration sound. I haven't heard any of the other mufflers in person for the 05 but I am very pleased with how these sound. :D

I will try and have pics up tomorrow with hopefully a video or sound clip also.

You should be happy with them for a long time. I'm crazy about mine. Helped my buddy install his Tuesday. He still took it to Worth's muffler shop and welded them in place. Oh well.
Where did you order them from? Hope to see you around town

Cool, so I guess you live in the Huntsville area. I actually live in Toney and work out in Madison. I know the installation was pretty straight and easy. It took about a little over an hour to do it (took time to make sure I didn't scratch anything). I ordered mine from Brothers Performance back in March. Yeah I don't think I will have them welded, they camp on there just like the stock mufflers. So are you going to the show this weekend at the Space and Rocket Center?

'01SilverBullet,
Yeah it takes no time at all to put them on and I think they sound great.

small world. I live in the big city of Hazel Green off of walker ln..Definitely gonna try to make the show if I can squeeze it in amongst 2 baseball games and a basketball banquet this weekend.
My buddy has a sonic blue also, lives in meridianville. He has the bullit rims, which I think looks very nice on that color.

i have had the flowmaster kit on my 05 gt for over a month now... i had summit racing drop ship it from flowmaster directly. i was on their case about it from the day it was supposed to be released from flowmaster....nobody could get it in stock before april, so i had it dropped shipped and put it on around the 9th of april....i love the way it sounds, but i heard a sound clip of an slp loudmouth setup and i think it sounds a little better....i need to find someone near me that has it (slp) so i can hear it in person. the slp was cheaper also ($225, i think).....i ended up paying $285 for the flowmaster setup-that includes the drop shipping from flowmaster. the look of the tips is just killer compared to the stock tips too!!!

Just to report back in. Put the Flowmasters on Saturday, although it took me a hell of a lot longer than 20 minutes. Probably took me 20 minutes to get all the bolts off. :) And getting the front hangers tightened on the right muffler were a total b*tch because there is literally like 2 inches of space. But I've also never done my own exhaust before either, I'm sure I made my work harder somehow. :)

Sounds great, looks great, mucho better than the stock. It's loud, but it's not ridiculously loud, just a very nice meaty, throaty sound. And sounds great on acceleration. And of course the nice chrome tips look way better than the stock, as well as the black mufflers. Now you don't see those ugly stock mufflers hanging down when anymore. I really didn't like that.

So I couldn't be happier.

I also have the flowmaster kit on my 05. It sounds great, alot better than stock. My only problem is that one of the tips was welded on in the wrong position. The flowmaster logo is turned to the left and the drain hole in the bottom is
acutually at about 5 o'clock instead of 6'oclock. I am thinking about calling flowmaster to get another muffler. At first I thought it was an adjustment problem but the muffler is not twisted, just the tip. Anybody else have this problem?

Congrats on the install!!
I doubt that I installed mine in 20 minutes. More like 1 1/2 hours.
Did you notice any difference in the way the throttle and motor responded?
Just wondering, when I took the 40 series off and put the thunder on it was like day & night. Just wondering how it felt going from stock to the thunder.

Yep it took me about 2 hours to do it. I just kept thinking, "20 minutes???!! I've got to be a retard or something!" :)

I drove it real easy the first day, I wanted to make sure all the bolts were tight before I opened it up. Today is the first time I've driven my car since Sunday so I really let it out today, and I think there definitely is a noticeable improvement in throttle response. In fact, that was the first thing I really noticed right away, apart from the sound of course. The stock was fine, but the car just seems like it's breathing easier now.
