Hey guys,

I'm praying someone here can guide me in the right direction with this because all my attempts have failed so far.

Basically, I bought this 92 GT with 500rwhp and the guy gutted a lot of stuff so I've been working nonstop on this car for the past couple of days trying to get it ready to pass inspection.

The big problem right now is that the turn signals don't work. What I mean is that when I pull the turn signal lever, no blinking comes on in the dash and no lights outside either, and no clicking sound.

However, when I turn the hazards on, the turn signals work and everything lights up, both inside and out.

Today I switched my friend's 88GT turn lever in for mine. No difference.

I then went out and bought a new flasher and replaced the one in the fuse box. No difference here either. I've been getting a lot of mixed advice here.

I called up dallasmustang and they said that the turn signal flasher and hazard flasher are the same thing, meaning there is only one flasher. But I have I heard from a few people that there are 2 different ones. I took out the seat and was on my back looking for this damn thing but I looked everywhere and there is not a second one. I will be taking pictures so that maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

Any suggestions?

Ok let's just see if we can straighten a few things out here. There are 2 different flashers for the car. The hazards flasher is the one in the fuse panel. The turn signal flasher is located above the fuse panel on the instrument reinforcement panel. Check and replace the correct one to see if that works first. Next or whichever order you choose, check the fuse in spot # 5 in the fuse panel it is a 15 amp fuse. Never trust how it looks just replace it. If those do not work then we will from there tracing power.

Whtpny hit it pretty much on the head.

FWIW, earlier model years (87-89 at least) had TS flashers stuck in any number of places in the dash. I did not know that they finally found one spot for them. just something to remember if you cant find it.

good luck.

other places that TS's have been found: under the dash between the column and center console, behind the radio and under/behind the glovebox.

good luck.

Here's something to check...Does your heat/ac fan work? If you jiggle the key in the steering lock, can you get fan/signals to work for a second or two? It is a very common problem for the ignition switches to go bad on our cars. When this happens, loss of signals and fan motor seems to be the first sign. If you determine that this is the problem, take the cover off the steering column and replace the ignition switch. Now, I don't mean the steering lock (where you put the key). It's a block bolted to the side of the column where all the wires terminate. The switch is basically two halves with a copper mechinism that slides back and forth inside as you turn the key, making contact with the necessary wiring. It's a cheap fix and not too hard. The switch is affixed with two safety hex bolts. I had to use vice grips to get mine out. If you don't have a safety allen wrench kit, you'll have to either use vice grips or drill out the safety "bump" from the bolts then use a regular allen wrench. Good luck!
