Last night was the first night the dragstrip was open and I took my car up to see how much the headswap helped out. My best previous runs were 15.1's-15.2's @89-90mph with a 60' of around 2.2 or so. Well last night the track was terrible, I saw LS1 camaros and firebirds running low 14's with a trap around 110. A 2004 Mach 1 ran a 14.6 at 97. I managed to get only one run but I did so well (i think) that I called it a night. Now I know its not the fastest time and that alot of you run faster but I just thought Id share how much the headswap helped out.

Before Headswap: After Headswap:
60' 2.23 2.03
330' 6.281 5.979
1/8th 9.651 9.132
MPH 72.76 78.01
1000' 12.577 11.836
1/4 15.077 14.08
MPH 89.28 101.64

What amazes me is my 60' time got better after I had the Sportlines put in. I figured that would kill my traction.

nice 60 ft. good times :nice: BTW what was the DA number. you need to record the weather info to get a accurate reading of your car.

too me from lookign at your MPH iand 60 ft it looks liek you are not powershifting. 101.64 with a 2.0 60 ft should be a 13.8 or so. you need too powershift and if you already are get a better shifter or practice.

then with that MPH and 60 ft time i bet you can get a 13.8 or so.

DA was 2995' that night. Sorry I forgot to mention that, but I do keep track of the weather conditions. Corrected to sea level it was right around a 13.5 or so which is pretty good. As far as powershifting, I cant, Ive got an auto. Im gonna go back next week, try a few things different, and see if I can get a 13 sec slip. I was just so happy because the last time I was at the track(2 yrs ago) I was trying just to get in the 14's and my first time back I almost bypassed them. Ive got a set of slicks on order right now that should knock a couple tenths off as well.

LOL yeah a auto will rule out powershifting. :bang: i must have not seen your sig at the bottom. your car is making good power for it's mods. nice trap speed for a 2995 DA

"I saw LS1 camaros and firebirds running low 14's with a trap around 110".

Are you sure? With that trap, they should be in the mid 13's.

LS1 cars right out of the box run low to mid 13's all day.

I know they run that fast, there were some there that were running low 12's, I was explaining how terrible the track prep was that day. Those that were running 14's were just smoking em and not letting up. Bristol is a pretty good track, it does run a few tenths slower due to its elevation, but for their street fights night they dont prep it too well, like say for an NHRA event. I was no way implying that my car is faster than LS1s.
