As some of you know I just swapped in a 347 stroker. Its got about 2000k miles and running great. My question is I'm starting to hear a whissle with the throttle 3/4 open. (kinda sounds like a SC) The same sound I herd with the stock egr spacer back when the 302 was in. Could this be from the rings starting to seat and suckin more air at a quicker volocity causing the whissle?

Same issue here. I have founf that it is just the air passing through the throttle body and intake. It bothered me at first but now it dosn't bother me, kinda like it now. I wouldnt worry. Unless its a vacume leak. Spray some throttle boddy cleaner around to check for leaks.

Sometimes whistling is caused because a vacuum is being pulled on the crankcase. If you have the pcv valve hooked up, but have disconnected the line from the valve cover to the throttle body, then there's no metered makeup air available for the crankcase, and a vacuum can be pulled on the crankcase. The result is often a high pitched whistling sound as air gets sucked in past the front and rear main seals.

Just something else to look at if it's not the typical aftermarket throttle body whistle.

well i've noticed anything bigger then a 65mm TB whistle pretty loud. i made my own 3 1/2 inch piping all the way to my 80mm Pro-M. and it amplified it alot. kinda echos through the tubing. and i have an accufab which is a darn good throttle body so I know it's not that.

I pretty much know what causes it...I just want to know if the motor is now seating the rings causing the increased velocity? It didnt do it till last week and nothing changed accept the motor getting miles on it. Thanks for all the replies.
