i can get an 88 longblock with stock E7's and all for a good price but I was curious if it would work in my 94. I still have the stock intake so it will bolt onto the heads. and than I can use the stock maf and TB with my own intake.

I was just curious about the difference in camshafts if there is one. And will it bolt up to the T5 I have now?

anything else I need to know.

It should be physically identical, save for the '88 block having forged pistons instead of the hypereutectic pistons in a '94 block. Not absolutely sure, but I believe the cam is slightly different for the speed density cars, but I could be wrong, I just think I read it once. My '95 currently has a non HO 302 out of like an '85 T-Bird that had CFI on it, and I drive it every so often with no problems. It just has no power :(

Matt is correct about the SD cam. the cam actually should perform a little better than later cams (one reason bone stock SD cars were a little faster than bone stock MAF cars). Ford changed that cam because of valvetrain noise (ramp rates). it should work just fine though.

I cant answer the conversion questions though.

Fox guys use 94-95 T5's so that should work. I am not sure if anything needs to be done with the input shaft to make it work though.

good luck.

1988 Mustangs used the E5ZE-AA camshaft, which were used in Mustangs from 1985 (the introduction of roller cams in Mustangs) to 1988.

The 1989-90 Mustangs had essentially the same cam as the 91-95 GTs, but for a longer thread hole for a bolt. Lift specs for the E5ZE-AA are the same as the E8ZE/F1ZE/F4ZE HO cam, but the SAE intake duration for the E5ZE is ten degrees shorter (266 vs 276).

maf conversion

so since my car is already maf and not speed density I can just go with my stock maf and tb and everything is just fine right?? so there is nothing to do with wire harnesses and what not.

sounds like it just a drop in deal so thats easy enough, I have had the stroker out so many times I could do it with my eyes closed.

thanks for the help.

hey davins, i see you got the 40 series dumped. I got the same thing. but I cant seem to keep them from bottoming out.
I don't know if I got my flowtubes on wrong or what but I can't get them muffs to stay off the ground.

you got any issues??? i might just put a catback on, its a little too rich smelling for me anyway.

I've got a 92 block that came out of my 87gt(different heads, but the ones out of the 88 should work). Just bolt on the front accessories, and everything else should work. Bolt on the maf, should be fine because of the maf computer you have in your ride, imo, and should bolt to your t-5 if you still have the bellhousing.
