I am the recent new owner of my 3rd 5.0 and have a HP question that I hope someone could give me help with. The car I bought is a 92 LX coupe with a new motor that was put in in Jan '05 (I have the receipts). here is what it came with...

302 block bore to 306
hydraulic rollers
1.7 RR's
B303 cam
RPM performer heads
RPM performer intake
MAC shorty headers
MAC H pipe
MAC mufflers (dont know what model but they are VERY loud)
holley 750 DP
MSD 6AL ignition.
4:10 gears
HD T5 tranny

couple of questions...

The builder of the motor (Bob's Speed Products in FT. Lauderdale) said that it had 375 Hp and 350 Lbs. Torque (not rear wheel) does this seem right?

With this set up, and running DR's, what could i expect to run in the 1/4. The guy i bought it from showed me two time slips that he said were his one said 11.86 and the other 11.80 (close friend of my best friend so I beleive they were his).

With this motor set up, would i benefit at all from long tubes and/or and X-pipe?

thanks to all who respond.

I had...
F cam
RPM heads
Air Gap intake
650 doublepumper
msd 6al
msd dist.
flowtech 1 3/4'' long tubes
Dr. Gas X-pipe
2.5'' dynomax mufflers and tubes
underdrive pulleys
t-5 with pro 5.0 shifter
centerforce dual friction clutch
3.55's

3400 lb 88gt with me in it. I had a lifter that wouldn't prime up at all and kept knocking the rocker off of the spring and never letting any air into the number 6 cylinder since it was on the intake valve. I went 12.6@106. I have got on the innernet and both calculations for speed and et for my weight was around 338-345hp. That was on seven cylinders though.

I hope this helps you out. I would like to know what it would've ran on all 8 but is already out due to putting in a 398windsor

it does, and that sucks about your run. How did you like the F cam. ie., idle quality and such.

That hp number might sound right if it was dynoed with no accessories or anything. With it actually in the car behind a 5 speed you'd probably be looking at around 300-320 rwhp.....which is entirely possible. I'm about to install Performer RPM heads (60229) and a Comp XE cam and roller rockers on mine....hopefully it'll make decent power.
