When you press up does it still make the clicking sound. Similiar thing happen to my rear passenger window. If you take off your door handle bezel and unscrew the switch panel you'll notice that you can seperate it in half (one side will have the wires going into it and other side will have the switchson top). If these two halfs aren't pressed tightly together the proper connection won't be made. Hope this makes sense.

when it wont move, check at the motor to see if you have juice getting there. if so, I would suspect the motor. In the FAQ at the top is a write up on swapping the gears inside the motor - they are a trouble area. if you are contemplating a new motor anyhow, makes sense to pop the old one apart and see if you have dust for gears.

good luck.

Do your other buttons click? I just checked mine, and they all make a clicking sound (and they all work). So if I was you I'd take off the door handle bezel and check to make sure the screws that hold the switch panel to the bezel are tight. Reason being is that those screws keep the two halves of the switch panel tight together.

If that's not it then I'd do what HIISSIN said and check voltage at the motor.

If the window runs fine once it starts moving it's prolly the switches.I just had the same problem with my 95 and got new swithces from 5.0 resto for like $15.To really be sure you have to check for power at the motor but putting in new switches is easier than popping the door panel if you dont have to.If you can afford it change them all,our cars are 10 years old so the switches are due to start wearing out.
