warranty?

it will void it. some ford dealers will keep the warranty if they install them themselves but thats only some, and they'll charge you, alot.

also keep in mind it'll void your drivetrain warranty only. so if your seatbelts fall off or your radio melts or something they'll still replace them. you can also chance it, if you take your car in for something not requiring a test drive they'll never know

525 including the gears is not that bad especially considering you keep your warranty.

I paid 200 for my install and I forgot what I paid for the gears, thats not that much higher though.

Basically, what it says is that unless they perform all your maintinance for free, they cannot void your warranty over a specific part. Get FRPP or ford gears so you can claim it is the same stuff they sell over thier counter, that helps a little. If something happends and they can prove that it was caused by a bad install, then yes the warranty wont cover it.

Thisw happend to me, I bent a shift fork in a t-45 tranny. They tried to void the warranty because i had 4.10's, moser 31-spline axles, and a D/S loop WELDED in. They said, "well, the loop is made for dragracing safety" and i told them, "hey, this tranny is only 4 months old! and the race tracks won't open for a couple of weeks, damn strieght i'm going to race it, i'll call you up from the track when i go so you can void the warranty, but this tranny hasn't seen the track." Any way, with alot of conversation with the service manager, he got a new tranny in my car, for free :)
