Just talked to a dealer

it'll happen soon. with ford upping production on the 06s, i'd bet you could probably buy an 07 at or below MSRP by late next year. ford won't hold back on the market with the demand this high. they'll flood the market as quick as they can to get in on the profit before the niche of the car is gone.

Mike

Buying a car at sticker price is hardly anything to be excited about, you can do that now if you can find them. Most of us didnt pay over MSRP for our cars...I know I didn't. And there are guys who got X-plan deals, mostly by orders.

I'm willing to bet that most people did pay over MSRP for thier GT..maybe not 5K over but 2-3K is a safe bet....finding a dealer selling a GT at MSRP is about as likely as finding Bin Laden working in 7/11 :lock:

you know its funny how i read about all this "demand" but the 3 Ford lots locally have several GT's just sitting on the lots and have been for some time.

on retard wanted something like $6-7 thousand over sticker a few months ago,
than GT is still sitting there.

I've commented on the same thing myself, recently. Funny thing is, about 2 weeks after I began talking about this, a local dealer (who had a TON of 05's on the lot, and were there for a while) suddenly had NO 05's on the lot, with only 1 on the showroom floor. Made me suspicious, so I checked their online inventory - they still have about 7 of the 10 or so 05's I'd noted 10 days before.

Shady snakes have obviously decided to artificially prolong and enhance the "hard to get" line by hiding their 05's at the back of the lot. Stoopid f'rs!

Sticker here. If you can get for MSRP or close, consider taking it.

Scumbag dealers aside, there's no question that the 05 IS somewhat hard to get, so up to a G markup probably isn't so bad.

Nah man, here in So Cal, it's pretty easy to find a dealer willing to sell a GT on the lot for MSRP (if they have one). Heck I know at Galpin Ford (one of the biggest in the US) they're not marking GT's up.

The 2003 Mach 1s were hot when they came out. I was asked $35,000 for one that stickered for $29,000. I bought it a year later for $24,000, tax included.
A year after that a used one with 1,000 miles on it (yes, one thousand miles) was going for around $19,000.

Ford was adding overtime to up production for the 05 as well. And there is still more than enough sales. I can't find any gt's at any of the dealers in my area. And I check every week. the only dealer that had one last month. Had bought it used from another state. Depending on how high demand gets. They may not be able to "flood" the market. I believe they can only build 192k units a year at the plant. And you can bet they aren't going to build another plant for the mustang.

I Paid for my GT on the X-Plan. But it took me 12 weeks to get it. It was worth the wait :hail2:

i paid sticker for mine. my experience was that its easy to find a gt, difficult to find the gt you want. in my situation there were 3 items that were non negotiable. that was ext. color, int. color and manual tranny. there are plenty of dealers that have gt's. most of them arent advertising them. i had to call all over the state. literally about 30-40 dealers. i finally found one, and it took about about 3 hours with the saleman just to get it down to sticker. personally i think they "let it go" at sticker cuz the dealership was flat out dead and maybe they just wanted to move the car. either way dealers are making a killing getting sticker for any car. now even though i paid sticker for mine doesnt mean i got a good deal on it, but in the end the sh1t eatin grin i get everytime i get in the car makes it all worth it.

well maybe YOU'D pay sticker for it, i wont...

LOL, ok tough guy. Then you won't be getting one off a lot anytime soon. How much research have you really done? How many dealers have you called? Have you really investigated the prices and what dealers will do? I paid under sticker for my car anyway so whatever. I'm done with this, everyone who hasn't tried to purchase is a know-it-all. God forbid they listen to anyone who actually shopped the cars for several months and sees how the maket is right now, and how it will be for the immediate future.

actually im not interested in a GT, to me its a down grade, im waiting for the Shelby or if i cant get one whatever SE comes out next year.

if i did want a GT id wait til next year and get one below MSRP with rebates and fewer bugs, or a low mileage used 05

and yeah even for the shelby ill wait for the "hype" to die down or if all else fails, again wait and buy a used one.

dealer markups and MSRP are for suckers

and for what its worth, my sister was told by a chebby dealership that the new cobalt coupes were in high demand and wouldnt be seeing incentives for years. :nonono:

its a dealer ploy to get the most out of people with more money than sense.
