I have a 2000 Roush Stage 2 With the norm 75mm TB, Penlum, 3.73s. Anyway I am looking for the most bang for the buck without having to tear down the motor? What one of these will work the best for mostly street driving and a once in a while trip to the strip. They both look to be had at around $4000 But vortech comes with fuel pump and injectors. and I know I see alot of KB guys on here as well but it looks to be a little more $$$ before you get done, and it may be worth it but I have $4000 at the most. Will my motor hold togather with these as long as the boost is under 8-9lbs???
Thanks Everyone..

Im nothing of an expert by any means but id go with the procharger. They come with an intercooler and i dont know they just seem like they produce even slightly better gains than vortech/paxton/etc. but id wait to hear what others have to say first.

Procharger is by far the best supercharger, the D1SC is better than the P1SC, if you want even better perfomance with the stock motor, spend a thousand or two more to get a turbo, turbo is even better, some kits say they lay down 555 rwtq and about 450rwhp with a safe 8psi on a stock motor

the Vortech S trims are better than the Procharger P1sc. it's far more reliable. the Procharger does come with the intercooler tho. if you choose Procharger, get a D1sc and avoid the P1sc. the Vortech are good and reliable. you don't need an intercooler if you keep the boost low and don't run a ton of timing.

i'm making 380rwhp with an S trim @ 10psi thru and auto. no intercooler.

Im not running boost right now, im pretty much stock. But when i have the money i will be buying a 10psi procharger kit. Just because of the fact that they've got a good rep, have been featured on reputable TV shows, and are self contained units and come with the intercooler. I guess the self contained part can be good and bad, gotta make sure you never go low on oil but you dont have to tap into the oil pan either. Either way boost is boost though.

tapping the oil pan is not a big deal. it's much easier than taking the blower off every time it needs it's oil changed. the P1sc does not have a good rep. it has a tendency to blow seals.

sorry to hijack this thread but do you guys think 6000 dollars is fair for everything listed below

Ati Procharger P-1SC
with 42 lb inj, Mass Air Meter, Cobra Tanks and Pumps Installed and tuned to about 420 RWHP

At 420 rwhp, you're pushing those internals to their limits.

These are the number I got from a reputable tuner in my area (Mike Dez from Dez Racing) he said it would be fine with a conservative A/F ratio I also have all the bolt ons shy of cams and heads.

with that much power, any hint of detonation can blow the motor. having a safe tune does not mean it will not break no matter how conservative the a/f ratio is. it's your money, but you should start saving for a new shortblock asap.

you can get a mongoose kit installed and tuned to about 360rwhp+ and that will cost like 4300(you save 1700 and maybe even put some blower cams in)

www.modularpowerhouse.com

look for the mongoose kits...i rec. the vortech SQ

I would definately go with the Procharger kit. It gives more power gains and I feel as if it's more reliable. Vortech's are good, but I just prefer the Procharger myself. Some kits for the Procharger come with injectors, fuel pumps, custom burnt chip, intercooler, and everything else needed for the install/setup.

same as this kit - intercooler

and this tuner(Tim) hasnt lost one engine yet with his tune
i have also heard P-1SC isnt that great(bad seals or something), but the D-1SC is a better option regardless

If you want reliable power get the Novi 2000. Its a much better starting point than either the S or SQ trim vortech or a Procharger P1.

It can support well over 600whp and still be a good 350-400whp blower.

Get a Novi or Vortech or if you want Procharger get the D1SC.

I am also a big Procharger supporter.

with that said a good overall blower for the street is the P1SC-2. many have said the P1 has leaking seal issues and to get the D1 but do you guys realize the blower housing is exactly the same between the two with only the impellar being different? if one leaks, chances are both series will leak and from time to time they do. The D1 has alot of top end potential but lacks in HP and TQ in the more usable RPM range on a stock block car that you won't take over 6000rpms. the P1SC-2 makes great under the curve numbers and is capable of supporting 600hp. the shop I go to is a Procharger camp and I have out dyno'ed many stock motor D1 cars there with my setup.

NMRA real street is the best example of a -2 in action. even non intercooled because its not allowed, Tim Matherly owns that class.
