Does anyone know if a size 275 tire wil fit on 18x8.5 rims? I am trying to go with the widest tires. What is the max for these size rims? any help will be appreciated thanks.

From my searches it looks like 9" is the minimum recommended width for a 275 tire. Check out "specs" for tires at tirerack and it will tell you all the details for a particular tire, including section width and recommended wheel sizes.

Got another question. Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I'm interesed in getting the SVT Bullitt rims and so I checked tire rack for different rim types. I compared the 2004 Mustang GT Bullitt rims with the 2005 GT and the only thing I noticed between them is the tire size and offset. For the 2004 Mustang GT, the tires were 245/45ZR17 on 17X8 +30mm offset Bullitt rims. For the 2005 GT the tires were 235/55ZR17 on 17X8 rim with a +45mm offset.
I like the color (Antracite/dark charcoal) of the Bullitt rim for the 2004 GT better than the and 2005 GT (Black) so my question is, will these 235/55ZR17 tires fit on the 17X8 +30mm offset Bullitt rims?
I don't know, I maybe I'm just thinking too much.

SVT Bullitt
Finish: Anthracite (Dark charcoal) w/Mach Lip
Size Selected: 17x8
Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Wheel offset: +30mm

The 235/55-17's will fit on the 2004 Bullitt wheel, but because of the offset it will stick out more. I haven't seen this particular combo mounted yet but I would think it would stick out past the fender. Some think it looks good, myself I don't like it when the wheels stick out.

I went with an 18X9 Chrome Bullitt which had a 36mm offset and mounted 255/45-18's which I think came out about perfect. You might want to try searching out somebody with pictures of the earlier Mustang wheels and see for yourself what it looks like.

Here is a picture of my setup FYI

Thanks guys after researching some of the links you left.I have decided to go with BBS rims. The rear will measure 18x10, the front will be 18x8.5. The new shoes will be the Nitto 285 or 275 on the rear, the front will be 255 or 265 either will be fine. I will post pictures when she gets the new shoes put on. I will have the stock rims and tires on the market in the coming weeks.

Nice! That looks good!
I see what you're saying. I don't like that ghetto (tires sticking out) look either. It just wouldn't look right if they were too far out.

Thats looks pretty good.
Do you know who owns that GT?
I'd like to get in touch with that person and ask some questions.
Thanks!

I haven't got a clue, I just found it on the net. I also have a pic from the front of that car. The wheels that stick out are the 9" wide ones with less than 35mm offset. 30mm might be alright with a 9" wide wheel, but it would be very close to sticking out.
