Mach 1 Owners: How do you keep the shift knob from burning your hand in the summer?

changed the shift knob before i even left the dealers lot.
I hate bullit/mach shift knob, too small and slick for me to get a good grip on it.
If your keeping the stocker on then, get a winsheild visor and throw a sock over the shifter when its out in the sun during the day.

pm me if you don't want that stock knob.....

I use an all-aluminum version of the mach 1 shift ball (i hear the bottom piece of the true mach 1 ball is plastic), and even on hot summer days in direct sunlight, the ball never gets too hot to handle.

I have a Mach 1 ball in my GT.

Never had a problem with heat...and we are in the midst of a 90 degree heat wave.

I went all last summer withouth any probs either. Most my ball has ever gotten was slightly warm.

lmao, that was the first thing i noticed in my test drive of the mach last summer. we had to sit in the lot for a couple minutes the with the air blasting before i could drive it.
i told the dealer if i bought the mach i was taking the GT shifter, of course that was fine with them

I don't drive a Mach, but that was going to be my suggestion... I switched to the real Hurst White shift knob...never gets hot or cold, and looks really classy against my black interior...
Where can you get those and about how much do they run usually? I have the aluminum hurst t-handle and it sucks and gets very hot..i lvoe the ball style hurst..

i make as quick of a shift as i can. phoenix now is getting into the 110*s its hot as hell

That's what I do when the stang is left out in the sun for a period of time - just shift quicker than I normally do. IMO, small price to pay and I really like the look and feel plus it goes well with the Bullitt (Mach 1) pedals. :D

Crap, Arizona is hot at 110*!

A pic of my interior with the combo.
