I am looking at a 78 king cobra project car. I am told it is complete, and I have checked the numbers and buck tag. The engine is not the original, but I am told the car is complete. The young man did drive it in the garage and then took it apart. He has lost interest in that he has a sweet cobra II that is tearing up the town. The price is $1500. My problem is that the car will be stored outside for at least two years, I can "seal" the engine up for storage. Do you think this will ruin the car? Also any figures on what you've paid for restoration on your II's? I am really pushing things, as I'm about to order an 05 GT. I just don't want to be one of those whiners who say, "I could have bought a car like that for $1500 years ago!" This will be a car for my son to learn mechanics on and show if he wants to, my daughter as well, for that matter. (I just don't think I could bear to paint it pink) This car is white, I checked on another website and it said white wasn't a color for that year.
Any and all input would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Doc

Then don't be. We already have enough stories of regret.

Buy it, soak it with preservitive. Drain and remove the fuel tank and put it in a stable atmosphere. Bide your time.

Far as a KC in boxes being worth $1,500? If it's all there and there are no rot or pin hole issues I would say yes.

I thought it was.
