My car came equipped with a ford factory alarm, and it does not go off for crap. I know for a fact that it is the security system and not just keyless entry. Is there any way to make it more sensitive or resposive.

Is it the basic alarm or the upgrade??

There should be a sensitivity knob under the dash near the pedals for the upgrade. If it's not there you just have the basic alarm.

I checked and there was no dial or anything...I did see the i guessed what was the control box for the alarm and it says Ford Vehicle Security System. Also I found this button right next to my hood release that is connected to the alarm wireing. What could that be? i can sit and pound the car and shake it and it does not make a noise. Should i just go with an aftermarket alarm?

If its from the factory only, then the only time its gonna go off is if the car is locked with the keyless remote and then the inner door is opened without the keyless remote (i.e. someone breaks into the window and tries to unlock the car). 95% of the time, factory alarms do not come with any kind of shock or mercury sensor (tilt sensor).

If you feel unsecure , just get an aftermarket alarm , they wont run you that much

neither of my mustangs have had it, nothin too bad i dont guess. My ex-girlfriends '97 Z28 had a very sensitive alarm on it and I loved playing with it, I was actually glad I didnt have one. All you had to do was lean on her damn car and it'd start goin off like somebody was trying to break into it, it got kinda annoying after a while..
