How did you and how long did you have to look to find your stang?

Try Autotrader.com or Cars.com. I found mine on Autotrader.com in a few weeks (maybe it was less than that). There were plenty of private party listings when I looked.

i sold my csvt, and for about a month i drove the wife's maxima, while looking for a stang...i couldn't find jack squat around here....most were 96-98's,and i was looking more for a 94-95...i would have bought a 4.6 if it would have been the right car for the right price....but everything around here was either dogged out,or too expensive...

after about a month of searching i found my 95 black/black leather, and a few mods(mods that i wanted on my car) on the corral classifieds....it was about 500 miles away from me though....but after a few phone calls and emails we agreed on a price(without me seeing it in person or driving it)and we met half way,and i bought it on the spot....i agreed to buy it w/o seeing because i knew if i didn't like it,i could sell it here for more than i paid for it...but i ended up being very happy with it......and btw we bought my wife's old 94 gt on ebay, and was very happy with it as well, sold it to my brother...

Drove by a hyundai parking lot, while in my work truck, slammed on brakes, ran to stock 95 mustang, gave guy 3000 to hold it, came back 7 hours later, after not doing any work all day, just being at bank, gave guy another 10 g's, drove to local shop and had cats pulled off, off road h-pipe put on, shorty headers and dynomax catback, ordered lowering kit, went home and spanked my monkey. :nice:

13 grand?!?!?! when did you buy the car??

Well... this probably doesn't count but...

I had recently purchased a 93 black GT. Cruising around... this was back in 94... I saw this beautify chrome yellow stang... Every time I went cruising, I would drive past her. 2 months later I was in talking $$. BUT I couldn’t let my 93 go. So for years, I had both stangs and the hardest thing aside from having to polish them both was to decide which to cruise in!! :D :D :nice: :flag:

I was looking for about 1.5 years while my license was suspensed. Last March, 5 monthes before my license was renewed, my college roommate told me about a friend from high school selling a Mustang Vert. I called the kid that night, told him to hold the car till the weekend. Saturday came and I went to see the car with a blank check and after 20 minutes I put down $500. The next weekend I came back with a check for $4500, he ripped up the $500 one and then we signed the title over. So the car cost me about $4700, then I sold about $1500 worth of parts off it. Car barely ran, but all I was looking for was an accident free vert with black interior.

I looked about 7 or 8 months for a low mile really clean 94-95 cobra .Lot for sale but not a lot of ones people hadnt already messed with. waiting to find one you really want maked owning it much more satisfying.

Looked for a few months found nothing made a trip with a friend 2.5 hours away to nashville only found a 97 red cobra vert. nothing special. So came back home that night and was dieing to have one. The next day went to a local speed shop and talked to the owner. Told him i want a 94-95 gt 5-speed. Hea told me of a guy that owned a muffler shop that had one. So me and a friend (friend owned a 94gt at the time so he knew what to look for) go the the muffler shop guy tells us to meet him later at his house. So we go there later that day. He will not let either of us drive. We were both 19 at the time. We both listened to that car and noticed that the valves rattled like crazy. So we said no thatnks and left. Went back to the guy at the speed shop and told him. He said well sorry but I have one that my wife is driving while her minivan is in the shop. I was like really he said "Yea I'm Sure You Will Like This One". So later that night I take my dad and go to his house. OMG sitting outside of the garage is a 95 Cobra. I was like a kid at a candy shop. Just amazed by the cars beauty. Two days later after waiting on the bank for the money I went and picked up my cobra And drove it home in the rain and it was only my 2nd time to drive a 5-speed. ahhhh memories

It took probably about 2 months, I just totalled my 87, was looking into another fox to transplant all my stuff (had longblock, stock intake, exh, ect..), my 87 was an auto, painted black, I found that the 94-95's were about the same price back then, and I found one w/38,xxx miles, black 5 spd. It had full exhaust, and was really clean, I carfaxed it, no problems reported, and bought it.

how many miles were on your car though?
i had mine at 35k miles when i got it.
and fully loaded, power lumbar you name it...

I looked for about 6 months. I looked every day at work (Auto Trader) for one that met all my requirements (5 speed, max 50k miles, and black leather). It took a long time because most of it was in winter when there are almost no stangs around here.
Then i found my 95. White w/ blk leather, only 60km (approx 37k miles) with about 10k worth of goodies done to it. and for $11k CDN, it was priced for about 3k less than any other around. The new Trader had not even come out as they were still sitting in the office waiting to be delivered. I called the guy up and bought it over the phone without even looking at it, so nobody would get it before me.
I drove 5hrs to go pick it up that night, and good thing too. The owner said that since i had bought it (8hrs earlier), he had received about 20calls on it.

It took me a long to find my mustang. I wanted a 5speed GT vert with under 70k miles, black/vib red/atlantic blue and couldn't pay more than $7500.

So I took the bus from here in Tucson all the way to Cali (anaheim to be exact) to buy the car and drove it all the way home.

I probably ended up looking for about a year. Actually for the longest time I wanted an old one. '67 or '68. That was my favorite and thats what i wanted, but I couldnt find one that was nice for the life of me. Went all over. Then I started looking at newer ones and decided I wanted an SN95 5.0L. Good choice. :nice:
