I went to Pepboys today to get an oil filter and oil. One of the workers told that I should only use synthetic oil. My question is, the last time I changed by oil, I think I used normal oil. What's going on?

Tru_Blue_104 said:That guy is a dumb@ss. Yes, mustangs CAN use synthetic, but the DONT HAVE to use it. I have nearly 160k on mine and I use conventional (regular) oil. The reason is is because I never ran synthetic earlier so if I switched now, there is potential to run into leaks and such. If you have less than about 75k on your car, it should be safe to switch over to synthetic (correct me if Im wrong on the millage guys).
Anyways, you can run either in a mustang and next time that guy trys telling you something like that, tell him about this thing called the internet and how you can find all sorts of information there and it might help him not look like an @ss.
Sorry for the synical mood, but its early... Good luck!
