Lowering The stang??

Ive had the springs for 2 months now. There for a 2 inch drop.. Ive been chicken about installing them because I read somwere that the driveshaft will rub and such.. Is this true??? What els should I worrie about?? I know ill need cc plates.

2" is to much in my opinion. I think you should do 1.5" inch or less. With the 2" you may need CC plates and all kinds of new suspension components. Adjustable LCAs to get driveshaft alignment correct. Modified ball joints for new angle. The list goes on and on...

You'll screw up the u-joints (among many other things that will go bad) if you go too low. Stick to 1.5.

Dude dont listen to them, just keep the 2in. springs. Its gonna look badass and handle a bit better too. If things get all ****ty then just upgradeparts as they go out.

I'd hate to see your car. And things like balljoints and u-joints....doesn't matter how many times you upgrade them. Driveshafts NEED an angle to lubriate the bearings. If your going to do a 2 inch drop plan on spending some money to do it right THE FIRST TIME, unlike this yahoo above....

I have H&R Supersports and I have a 1-3/4" drop in the front (1-1/2" in the rear) and it's almost just a tad too low. I have to creep over every speed bump and I've hit my K-member a few times when I've hit bad dips unexpectingly. I may go back to H&R Sports which is about a 1-1/2" drop (or less cause I have urethane isolators).

I have the Eibach Prokit and they don't seem to drop low enough. I don't want the ricer/skateboard look. but maybe another 1/4" drop. I was thinking of getting H&R SS springs but I don't want to end up scraping on every little bump in the road.

Having a car low is not rice. I hate to even use the term rice anymore it gets missused so much on this board.

I wanted my car as low as possible without any negative effects.

What brand are the springs??? I would not just run the $90 2" springs of ebay on my car though. I went with the H&R supersports. that was the lowest drop performance oreinted spring I coudl find.

my car does not scrape or run on anything. I do have 1" taller than stock tires as I did not want to have a shorter sidewall than stock so that may be helping me a bit.

the downside to running a cheap srping with alot of drop is you can bottom out and scrape.

you need to decide what is most important too you. Some poeple are happy with the 4x4 stance. some people will live with a scraping car if it looks good.

I was right in the middle. I wanted as low as possible without scraping. The SS did that for me but with 18" 45 series tiers I mathmaitcaly am only 1.25 closer to the ground.

Negative. I would only scrape on big speedbumps in mine, and if you go at an angle, you'd clear every one.

maybe you'll get lucky one day and "accidentally" lose them!

If you install new urethane isolators the drop will be a little less than 2". It seems to vary from car to car, but in most cases you will need CC plates with a 2" drop. It's also highly recommended to get new shocks with a 2" drop.

I hate the 4x4 look, but I don't want the added expense of shocks and CC plates if I don't have to. Therefore, I'm going with the H&R Sports this time. They seem to settle in a little lower than the Eibach Pro-Kit.

I disagree.When I dropped mine 2" I would drive down the freeway and hit a dip going 65,it would defiantely scrape.Thats just my experience.

Scraped or tires rubbed?

there is no way scraping would occure on a freeway drive a 2" drop unless something is altered.
