Wish me luck with Ford tomorrow!

Sorry guys....but the Magnusson/Moss act isn't always that cut and dry, like I said. I've heard of dealers laughing out loud when hearing it quoted and still denying warranty claims. You may get lucky…..but if you want to be safe, you’d best wait until the car is out of warranty before making any major (or even minor is some cases) modifications to it, or just be content with the though of voiding your warranty. Otherwise, you may end up being caught with your pants down. :)
Yep. The burden of proof is on Ford. They must proove a particular mod is responsible for a failure. They cannot categorically deny your warranty claims based on assumption and conjecture.
All Ford needs to do, is to claim that any performance mod is evidence of possible abuse (ie, "racing"). All the proof that is needed, is simply the existence of the performance mod. That is enough to fully void your entire warranty. The legal basis is that if you make a performance mod, you must be making use of it.

There are two parts to the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. Unfortunately, too many aftermarket part places like to conveniently "forget" about the other part which deals with abuse. :(

Just got a call from Ford :nice:
They test drove my pony again this morning and confirmed the gearbox fault and ordered the replacement parts for the gearbox TSB 04-15-6, Ford PN#3R3Z-7124-AD
Parts should be in tomorrow and my car is booked in for Monday morning next week for 2 days.

Forgot to add the Ford part number for the window Cap Seal is 3R3Z-7624442-AA

Quick question on this one for you:
Just yesterday, I started noticing my car has noticeable tranny whine when first started and in neutral with my foot off the clutch. Am I heading down the dark path of the TR3650 doom?

Does the sound go away when you push in the clutch? if so it's most likely the throw out bearing a seams to be a common issue with the GT's. Just a guess though...

I'm sorry, but there is NO WAY that Ford can fully void your warranty for any mod. However, I'm sure someone knows a guy whose brother's sister-in-law's best friend's cousin was told that their a/c evap core was not covered because of a CAI kit  . It's funny how everyone seems to "know" a guy yada-yada-yada, but I haven't read a post from "that guy" yet.

Obvious abuse is another story. You change your shifter and mess up your syncro's or bend a shift fork, that's your problem. I'm actually in favor of denying these "obvious abuse" claims. I don't like having to pay more for my vehicles because some clowns are out there cheating the system.

Like it was said earlier in this post...if you want to play, you'd best be prepared to pay.
