and thinking about it...i basically want to get my mustang to sound classic with a real aggressive sound like an older muscle car...something that can give me cold chills!
You're going the wrong route if you want it to sound like a muscle car. You will need chambered mufflers paired up with an H or Prochamber to get that. X pipe and straight-thru mufflers will sound NASCARish, and will sound more "racy"/"high pitched".

Both types of sounds are enjoyable IMO, and produces exhaust notes that no other car can make.

hmm...the thing that steered me away from some chambered mufflers was my buddy's 04 GT...i listened to his exhaust when he put on some new flows and it sounded real shatty & high pitched...so i figured go w/ something that sounds deeper like the packs...

but i went to mustangexhaust.com & listened to some of the magnaflow sound clips and the second one from the bottom w/ the packs & magnaflow x w/ cats sounded real nice when he gunned it...it sucks there arent any clips w/ the packs and their o/r pipe...but how much diff would it sound compared to that?

alright ive been posting crap up a lot towards exhaust threads and i plan on getting a midpipe put on before summer is over...i already have magnapacks & they are good...but i want it LOOUUUDDERRR with the same deepness but more throatier i guess! i cant really explain it with words and i doubt anybody else could either...i hear all this talk about go x-pipe or go h-pipe...or even go prochamber...but i dont want to pick one and be disappointed with the investment...does ANYBODY have any clips of their 99-04 stang w/ packs and an o/r midpipe...or even a regular midpipe just so i can have some clue what to expect?!!?!

I have paks with catted mag x midpipe. I had just the paks and stock h-pipe on for awhile first and after the x went on, it really "throated" it. IMO o/r pipe w/ paks is too much.
